    About the Manufacturer
Engineer and inventor Karsten Solheim got his start as an engineer working for GE in Ithaca, New York. His passion for the game set him on a journey to create a better putter. At the time he thought he was simply building it for his own personal use, but in 1959, Karsten’s ongoing garage experiments yielded an innovative putter he called 1A design. This putter had very distinctive design qualities, among them, a unique tone at impact, a sound that would echo throughout the game for generations to come…“Ping.” The Anser putter began a long and proud history of truly innovative equipment design throughout Ping’s entire product line (ultimately resulting in over 400 patents) that has set Ping at the top of the list of golf design and manufacturing companies. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Karsten Solheim has passed away and his son John has taken the helm.

    A Great Golf Club

    Created: 02/11/10
What makes a great golf club? The player behind it...or the product itself? In this case it is the product, not the player! The club being described is a Ping Tour Wedge. It is new old stock and in mint condition. That is one of the things I really like about it. I bought a very high quality club that has helped to improve my short game...at 1/3 the price of newer, more expensive versions. Would the newer versions improve my game even more? I doubt it! This one has everythng I need: nice balance, deep groves, custom length shaft, and a properly fitted grip. It is a beautiful club too. But it really shines when I have a 30 yard pitch shot over a big sand bunker...and I land it three front from the pin!

    Ping tour wedges

This is not only a great looking club, but it also delivers great performance. Well balanced, solid contact on hard and soft shots. Good blast out of the sand. The bounce could be a little lower for those tight grass lies, but it is workable. I got this club so I could get rid of a 58 and 54 degree wedge and add a 3 hybrid on the higher end. Ping is one of the few companies that will make lie custom wedges which are critical for the short game.

    Not a bad wedge

    Created: 15/10/07
I had a collection of MB wedes, sold them off and upgraded to this in a 58*. A very nice feeling wedge that works well from rough, sand and pretty much anywhere from 110yrds in, well for me anyway. A game improving club that probably saved me a couple of shots a round. One dissapointment, the paint chips off although it didnt lose the black finish. I don't like crappy looking beaten clubs in my bad so i'm looking to trade it off. A great price here on Ebay, 40-50% cheaper than retail. Another great wedge from Ping, in my opinion the leader irons by far.

    Great Wedge

    Created: 19/12/06
Fabulous performance from 125 yards and in. Wonderul spin. Hit and check stopping ability. Good as a chipping club. Great out of Bermuda and gnarly rough.
Oh, and by the way, the previous reviewer shouldn't knock the PING product because they enforced their manufacturer's pricing which is their right. PING supports the armed forces and in fact is one of the few Made in the US manufacturers. Please don't use actual review platforms for your personal dissatisfaction over pricing guidelines.
