About the Manufacturer
Engineer and inventor Karsten Solheim got his start as an engineer working for GE in Ithaca, New York. His passion for the game set him on a journey to create a better putter. At the time he thought he was simply building it for his own personal use, but in 1959, Karsten’s ongoing garage experiments yielded an innovative putter he called 1A design. This putter had very distinctive design qualities, among them, a unique tone at impact, a sound that would echo throughout the game for generations to come…“Ping.” The Anser putter began a long and proud history of truly innovative equipment design throughout Ping’s entire product line (ultimately resulting in over 400 patents) that has set Ping at the top of the list of golf design and manufacturing companies. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Karsten Solheim has passed away and his son John has taken the helm.

Ping Zing 2 Single Iron Golf Club

Created: 08/03/09
My husband has a set of Ping Zing 2 golf clubs but he did not have a 1 iron. He wanted one very badly. We had looked many, many places and could not find one. I got on e-bay one day and there was one listed. I ordered it for him but did not tell him. When the club arrived he was ecstatic. Every time he plays golf he uses this iron and says he wouldn't take anything for it.

I purchased a Ping Zing2 1 iron because I wanted to play one again, it had been more than 25 years. I also purchased a 1 iron for my other set of clubs, '04 Big Berthas. I remembered how great it was to hit one off the skin and watch it, like a low aimed bullet, head toward the target. It is great to use for long bump and run shots on a windy day too, or to use on a long putt, or off the tee. I am very happy with the Ping Zing2 1 iron and the Callaway version too. Both are high quality, easy to hit, allow lots of creativity, and are fun to play. I would recommend both clubs.

I bought this club because I was going backwards with my hybrids. I purchased a 5 iron because it gives me great directional control. It has worked so well I seriously consider replacing my G10 irons with the Ping Zing 2. It is a great club and I would definitely buy it again.

I love this Iron! It is a fun club to use! People will call me crazy because I will tee-off with it sometimes! BUT the style of this club, the design will give you one powerful drive! Give it a Try and you will see! I highly recommend!

I'm trying to replace my 5 wood with either an iron or a hybrid because I have never been able to hit it. I love my 3 iron so I figured a 2 iron would be a perfect replacement. I play Zing 2's so I'm glad I found a matching iron.

I just got this yesterday and went to the range with it and hit 55 balls. To my surprise, I was smacking the heck out of this club with a nice low trajectory. It looked like I was getting 230ish with roll but I could be wrong. I want to play it on the course before I pass any further judgement but my first impressions of it are very favorable. I'm getting my hybrid in a few days so we'll see what spends more time in my bag after a few rounds with them.
