Pink Panther Classic Cartoon Collection (DVD, 2009, 5-Disc Set)

This is a fantastic collection for any age. EVERYone in our family from from my 62 yr old (retired postal worker/army vet) father, to my 35 yr (veteran USMC seargent) brother, to my husband and I who are 29 and 38, respectively, to my 21 yr old daughter (and mother of 4 as of this coming May!), 7 yr old step daughter, and especially our 1 yr old son absolutely LOVES this collection!! Even the grandkiddies love it! (1 boy age 3.5 yrs, 1 girl and 1 boy about to turn 2 yrs this may)

Our 13 mos old son loves it SO much that all I have to do is hum the theme song to him to get him to try foods he thinks he won't like! (though he'd much prefer I pop in one of the dvds!) Just a few notes and Layne immediately starts rocking and opens his mouth! lol!

My point being, it doesn't matter what generation you're from.. or what type of person you are, you just can't resist good ole Pink Panther!! With 124 different episodes to choose from, and next to no speaking.. its not something that's easy to get sick of.. (no obnoxious voices, no horrifying theme songs!) like some other collections out there..(think: Elmo. Who came up with THAT character? and where was he when I was a kid?? HE DIDN'T EXIST, THANK GOD! Talk about ANNOYING!)

But the music that they use for PP is not only great, but easy on the ears. One of the few that even when stuck in your head, isn't bound to drive you mad, like so many others.

We've tried to watch the more modern versions of PP.. but even our one year old is completely uninterested.. You wouldn't think a 1 yr old would know the difference!! Obviously, that's got to prove something.. and I think that something is, good ole classic Pink Panther can't be beat! Not even by his own self! (well, sort of!)

EVERYONE should have a copy of this set!

Its more than worth the cost.. We got this for our son's 1st bday when the world's biggest streaming/dvd site (whom I will not name!) decided to pull the set! And we got extra lucky & paid less than half the cost of a big box of Huggies diapers for ours!! (look up the prices of those these days.. you'll see what I mean!) Also, our seller even threw in an extra disc of "The Inspector" episodes, for Layne's 1st bday! How cool is that?!

BUT alas, this review is about the DVD set, not the seller - who just so happens to be our son's new hero/best buddy from Texas, btw - ;) ...but again, I digress.

I don't know how many ways I can say it, but you just can't go wrong with this set... so if you're considering buying one yourself or anyone else, do yourself a favor and GO FOR IT! No matter who its for... You definitely will NOT regret it!

Even non-english speakers can enjoy PP bcs the way they did this cartoon anyone in the world can understand the visual gags and hilarious antics of PP!

This is a timeless classic EVERYONE can enjoy time & time again!

What I loved about this cartoon was it was original, not so many cartoons nowadays can make me laugh without the character saying any dialoug, kinda reminds me Tom & Jerry. There really isnt any thing I did'nt like about this cartoon, I am 33 years old and this just takes me back to the old days.
I decided to buy this DVD Collection because I woke up one morning and saw the pink panther cartoon on and my daughter of 4 yrs. old was laughing her head off, and it took me back to when I was her age watching the same cartoon, and I just wanted to share and enjoy this classic cartoon for years to come with her and hope she can do the same with her children.

This collection has every single cartoon of the Pink Panther. Easy to navigate the menu, and with one push of the button will play about two to three hours of pink cartoons on a single DVD. With five DVDs in the collection it will take a while to view them all. Our kids love the Pink Panther, since the cartoons relies on animation with no talking. Harry Mancini's music score is crisp and clear and makes the animation flow pink. The DVD case is unique with a pink vinyl foam back cover, and the case unfolds like a road map to reveal the five DVDs. Well worth the price, even at Wal-Mart ($60).

I wanted the Pink Panther Cartoons because I loved them as a child and I knew my kids would... and they do! Unfortunately I remembered them as being pretty innocent, a good moral cartoon. When we actually watched them I noticed that the Pink Panther smokes, there are several cartoons with someone who is drunk and throughout the Pink Panther is usually irritating someone or another. As a child I loved watching the PP get the best of someone and drive them crazy but as a mom I'm really hoping my kids don't start acting like that! The cartoons are well done though, made by some of the same key people that made Bugs Bunny. There are no inspector or Aardvark & ant cartoons, just Pink Panther.
