Hans Zimmer lives up to Klaus Badelt

Created: 19/11/06
Haunting and piraty, this soundtrack speaks for its self of its deep background vocals in some tracks and its high a smooth action packed mood. Listening to this soundtrack makes you wonder if the movie is going to be any good or not if you haven't seen it. Hans Zimmer does well of composing the second installment, and lives up to Klaus Badelt, who composed the first installment, even though I still like the first installment a little better.

1. Jack Sparrow 5/5 (Great Theme for Jack)
2. The Kraken 4/5
3. Davy Jones 4/5
4. I've Got My Eye On You 4/5
5. Dinner Is Served 5/5
6. Tia Dalma 5/5
7. Two Hornpipes (Tortuga) 5/5
8. A Family Affair 5/5
9. Wheel Of Fortune 5/5
10.You Look Good Jack 4/5
11.Hello Beastie 4/5
12.He's A Pirate (Tiesto Remix) 4/5 (Weird, but fun to listen to)

Hope you enjoy! This is higly recommended! If you liked this, you may like

Entertaining, but not the best.

Created: 05/09/06
I thoroughly enjoyed the Pirates 2 soundtrack for its brilliant score, but I was rather disappointed by the bonus track at the end of the disc.

The lion's share of the disc contains every magnificent note composed for the equally exciting film, Dead Man's Chest. The only factor that prevented me from giving this disc a 5 was the Tiesto Remix of "He's A Pirate." I am a fan of techno music, but this version of what is considered to be the primary theme for the Pirates movies runs several minutes too long and never builds to the climax that I was expecting.

Other than that, this is Hans Zimmer doing what he does best. Enjoy!

Ok - as sound tracks go

The great thing about Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is the movie itself. Johnny Depp is terrific as Captain Jack Sparrow. The musical score is good and follows the movie well - while watching the movie. The sound track on its own is ok - but really no reason to own it. A friend of mine buys everything that comes out - practically - so I heard his. Don't spend your money on it.

One of Zimmer's best to date

Created: 09/04/10
I love this soundtrack and how Hans Zimmer built upon his ground-breaking, trend-setting score from the first film (even though, TECHNICALLY, the score from the first film is credited to Klaus Badelt.) The song "The Kraken" is one of my absolute favorites, as it musically captures the emotions surrounding the mysterious beast. He even makes us fear the Kraken with the strong undertones and current of the later parts of the song, and the overwhelming power that it represents is also demonstrated nicely. Just listen...you'll get it.

"Wheel of Fortune" is also another great song. Overall, I love every song on this soundtrack, and none really stands head and shoulders above another. Clearly a masterful work of art.

Once again Hans Zimmer provides us with a great soundtrack! All of these scores are amazing, my personal favorites being Davy Jones, Jack Sparrow, The Kraken, and Wheel of Fourtune.
