Polaroid A520 5.1 MP Digital Camera - Black

This camera is inexpensive but I cant even say it was a good bang for the buck or that it was worth the low price. I paid $41 ($50 with shipping) for it on ebay.

Pro: Inexpensive, mine was pink...

Cons: Flash would flood the images. Even at -2 exposure. When you move the images back further to avoid the flood the flash becomes ineffective. Objects that do appear looks un-natural; more like a high contrast shot. LCD was very dark. In a room with a halogen lamp (super bright)the LCD screen was almost pitch black. There was no settings to tweak with. The camera feels light and cheap like it was made from aluminum cans and plastic.

Thoughts: If this camera was sold for $20 out the door than you can consider it a good bang for your buck.

I purchased an A520 at a local store to take on my trip to see my daughter. I should have burned the money. No photos were able to be used. The flash over powered every shot. Even with all lights off at night the flash made the photo white. I did turn the flash off and then the images had a white blur on them. I have no idea what causes this. I have called Polaroid and they offered no help on the issue. Don't lose your recept or you do not get any service.

this camera is cute, and cheap. its not 5.1 megapixels. its 5.0. the sticker on the camera says 5.0. theres not really a difference tho. its impossible to use the flash because it DOES flood out the picture, you cant see nearly anything. when you dont use flash the pictures come out dark with a red tone to them unless you are in direct sunlight. if you buy this camera lets hope you already have photoshop because you'll prolly want to fix the red tone to each picture.

I was pretty weary after winning this camera on ebay and reading other people's reviews about the lack of picture quality. This is not true at all. This camera takes beautiful pictures!!! It is very simple to operate and has many features that I still have not played with yet, but as I said, the pictures are absolutely beautiful!!!

I would recommend this only for a child's use. When using inside the house, the viewing screen (on the one we have) is so dark that it is difficult to see what you are taking a picture of. However, the pictures turn out nice. The 4 individual rechargeable batteries need to be recharged after a short period of use. I purchased it because it was cute, small and a good price. Also, because it has a memory card which allows the pictures to be viewed and deleted easily. It was my daughter's first camera so we didn't want to spend a lot on a camera, or on developing film with the children's cameras that are being sold in retail stores. It works well as a children's camera.
