This is a great movie! In fact, I think it was Mickey Rourke and Eric Robert's finest hour. They both did an amazing job in this movie. They did a great job of bringing their respective characters to life. The plot of this movie was great. The script was tight. There were no dull moments in the movie. Each and every moment brought you closer to the characters. You become emotionally invested in this movie. You care about the characters. It is a great tale about two young men, cousins, in New York, trying to make names for themselves, who go about it in the wrong way.

Witty , well-acted blend of comedy and drama about a couple of life's losers trying to make that big score. Great fun with a chance to see Eric Roberts just as he seemed right on the verge of super stardom and before he became known as Julia's big brother. Geraldine Page and Burt Young are great too.

an overlooked movie

i don't think this movie is that popular. its Eric and Mickey at their best. its very old school drama so the younger ones might now appreciate it as much as people from the 70s. especially in the east

Great from start to finish. Eric Roberts' acting dances on the razor's edge of overkill. At the same time he manages to channel every A.D.D. punk you accidentally ended up hanging out with in your teens and twentys.
