Porky's - The Ultimate Collection

Created: 31/05/07
Finally, all three Porky's flicks in one collection. Fans have been waiting for Porky's Revenge to be released on DVD for a long time, and now it's available only in this collection. The first one is a classic and was contraversial when it was first released, due to the nudity. Director Bob Clark keeps things moving along and keeps the laughs coming. There is an racial issue, in which jewish student Brian Schwartz (Scott Colomby) gets harassed by another student. Director Clark handles this with care and the two guys eventually become friends. Look for Kim Catrall (Sex In The City) as a gym teacher, Alex Karras and Susan Clark (of TV's Webster) as a redneck sheriff and a backwoods hooker, respectively. When a group of teens go to Porky's nightclub and get thrown out, they decide on revenge. This one is worth watching.

Porky's II: The Next Day picks up where the first one left off, but unfortunately, nightclub owner Porky only appears in a recap of the first movie at the beginning and is nowhere to be seen afterwards. The Angel Beach kids are back and are trying to put on a play about Shakespeare, but they face resistance from a preacher, who thinks the play is obscene. There's a lot more male nudity in this one and there is another race theme; this time an Indian student faces harassment. The kids also deal with the KKK, and a crooked politician. The pace of this movie is a tad slow and the jokes are somehow stale, but still enjoyable to watch. Bob Clark also directed this movie.

Porky's Revenge fast forwards to the kids being seniors at Angel Beach High. Several characters from the first two are missing. James Komack (of TV's Welcome Back Kotter and others) takes over directing duties. This time, nightclub owner Porky (Chuck Mitchell) is back and his establishment is now on a boat. The high school basketball coach is in debt to Porky, so the guys bail him out by promising Porky that they'll throw the basketball championship game. When Porky finds out that Meat (Tony Ganios) is dating his daughter Blossom, Porky has him kidnapped & tries to force him to marry her. It's up to the other guys to save Meat and finally get their revenge on Porky. While this is a great flick, there are some problems. A buxom exchange student is brought in only for nudity reasons and nothing else. Wendy (Kaki Hunter) is virtually given less to do than she did in the first two Porky's, and some of the jokes fall flat. Nevertheless, the movie is still enjoyable to watch & is the perfect ending to the Porky's series.

The bonus features include commentaries by the late director Bob Clark & a couple of comedians and theatrical trailers for all three movies. Unfortunately, there are no commentaries from the cast members themselves. That would've been interesting.

Porky's DVD Ultimate Collection

Created: 01/09/08
This is the best DVD collection for people that like great classic adult humor from the 80's. This collection brings back great memories of high school and the boys of Angle Beach High School. The collectors box that they come in says it all.
