) The Porter Cable 390K low profile random orbital sander with hook and loop pad is one of the best hand sanders I have ever used. I really like the variable speed so I can change speed's to fit the project. The hook and loop is nice to change fast to a diffrent grit sandpaper. I like the self contained vacuum also. I like them so well I now have two of them in my shop.

) I have a Porter Cable 333 for many years, and loved it, and the 390 is a major upgrade from the 333. The low profile gives much better control, and, like the 333 can be as gentle or agressive as you want it to be. Put a coarse grit on it and lean on it and it cuts ALMOST as fast as a belt sander. My latest job for it was finishing the edges of my hardwood floor. With 80 grit it rapidly cut down the ridge left by the floor sander, then I switched to 120 to smooth it out. Made quick work of it all, and I highly recomend this little gem for everything from hardwood floors to the finest finishing.
If there is any downside, it's that the dust catcher works too well. To stop the fine dust, it is a very fine material that has to be emptied often, or it clogs up, and before you know it, dust is everywhere. I recomend hooking it to a vac hose whenever practical.

) The PC 390 ROS has a great dust collection system. Has power to spare for the most demanding projects. The purchase at this price point was a best find! If you need a ROS you will not find a better work horsethan this model.

tool fine customer service is not

) the sander works fine but you need to have them change thier statement on trouble free returns.they do not pay for returns when they say they will and will not answer emails trying to find out whats going on! be careful in dealing with them
