As the world's top fashion models strut their stuff, only the hottest, most cutting-edge music accompanies them down the catwalks. This soundtrack had to be cutting- edge, and it succeeds.Introducing the set is the big, phat, juicy Jamaican dancehall hit "Here Comes The Hotstepper" by reggae producer/performer Ini Kamoze. Supercat's "My Girl Josephine" is a dazzling amalgam of styles--hip-hop and rockabilly. The stakes get higher with funky, loopy grooves by the likes of Salt 'N Pepa, Cece Peniston, Terence Trent D'Arby and The New Power Generation. There's even a track with a haunting chorus by Central African Pygmies ("Martha").Some superstars come on board to fill out the set. Janet Jackson's slow-sizzle "70's Love Groove," The Rolling Stone's harp-drenched blues- rocker "Jump On Top Of Me" and U2's danceable "Lemon" add credible, eclectic choices. The alterna-crowd is also represented with the remixed Cranberries hit "Pretty," and with Sam Phillips, who grittily reprises "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'."
