Priest (DVD, 2011)

Imagine a future in a world devoid of hope. Man’s inhumanity has led to society’s devolution, and left civilization on the brink of disaster. In its search for salvation in the darkness, the Church has assumed control. Its mortal enemy over time is a clan of vampires. Battles have been waged, and at first mankind were on the verge of defeat, that is until the Church developed a class of warrior Priests. These highly skilled and powerful fighters turn the tide, and there ensues a peace treaty of sorts. Without an enemy to battle, the Priests are relegated to lives of reflection and obedience to the Church. That is until the brother and his family, of one of the Priests, are slaughtered by vampires and their daughter taken. The Priest played by Paul Bettany, against the dictate of the Church, seeks vengeance and goes in search of his niece. This is a dark action-packed horror movie with plenty of battle scenes and first rate special effects. The acting is good and with a fine support cast makes this a movie worth the watch and a good investment.

I really liked the "idea" of the movie. A group of men/women priest sworn and specially picked to defend civilization from a swarm of undead. ( vampires) It wasn't a a bad movie, but not a 4 star. The acting was decent, the plot was pretty good. But I don't think people would call their friends and say, "hey did you check out that movie Priest" Its worth watching if you cant find something else, but to set out just to get it ( unless your a huge fan of vampire movies ) I wouldnt suggest it.

Great supernatural movie with a lot of action mixed with some drama/romance. Excellent cast, lots of popular actors and actresses. Different from the other vampire movies currently out.

One of the more original vampire stories out there, this movie is packed to the brim with action, blood, and an amazing performance by most of the actors. And it has one of the best scores ever!!

Paul Bettany is a strong lead for this picture. He is believable and determined. His stunts ar well executed and his drive unstoppable. Probably the best Vampire movie I've seen in 50 years.
