Movie synopsis

Applying itself to that most fundamental question of philosophy--what is the meaning and purpose of life on Earth--this documentary explores the evidence for intelligent design in the universe. Our planet and the life it sustains is shown to be a unique orchestration of time, matter, and our precise placement within the solar system. This gives rise to the best conditions for scientific discovery, pointing to a deeper truth about a cognizant creator. Positing the hypothesis that humanity's capacity for survival and it's correlative power of observation are proof of the existence of a creative designer, THE PRIVILEGED PLANET shows Earth as not a product of random processes but the end result of a set of finely-tuned factors. The documentary uses astonishing images of Earth and its universe, augmented with breathtaking computer animation and interviews with leading thinkers and scientists who work with these questions, in its refutation of the naturalistic philosophy that has prevailed in science for the last 150 years.

Clear science in a superb comprehensive presentation

Created: 12/05/09
The producers of this video have done their homework, and have taken complex concepts and distilled them (not dumbed them down) to their "so what" essentials. They use state-of-the-art science, visualization technology, and real live scientific authorities to present it all. It's the way that I wish schools would present the marvels of the universe, instead of the dry, text-stuffed "education" they provide.

The whole point this video is making is that Earth is not a random accident, nor are conditions in space likely to churn out planets capable of supporting life that can exist and learn long enough to be aware of its own environment. Probabilistically speaking, one Earth in an entire galaxy is already already better than the odds would allow.

It's simple math, a fantastic education in earth science, and an eye-opener for those who thing that greatness "just happens".

Too Many "Coincidences" for Evolution to be Credible

Created: 02/03/08
Full of questions that the evolutionary textbooks conveniently (and always)ignore. The most common ideas are "How could a planet and universe so complex, with so many interdependent systems, all essential to life at the same time, have developed by chance when the omission or weakness of just one system would be fatal?" and "How is it that man seems to be so perfectly positioned for discovery? - it appears as though the earth was made for us" When the DETAILS are examined, planetary/astrophysical evolution starts to look ridiculous. This series is delightful, awe inspiring, and even shocking. Yet it doesn't mention a god, just the facts. Ah, if only every student could just be exposed to the other side of the story. With all we know today, no one could continue believing the evolution fairy tail, (except of course those educators who would lose their jobs if they gave up on it).

Spectacular DVD - Watch It & Be AMAZED

Created: 29/11/07
We watched this excellent DVD with no preconceptions. It blew us away as we watched how carefully detailed our planet's positioning is in the galaxy, and the impossibility of life on it with more than a 5% change in any direction of placement & factors; and the mathematical impossibility of that happening - proving a Designer.

The photography is SO beautiful, and the impact of what is presented lasts for days, if one is open to true data, versus 'theory' and the political agenda of evolution.

There is no science fiction, no man made theory to match this data.

'Unlocking The Mystery Of Life' is the other one to watch for a complete wrap on the subject of a Designer. These two cannot be explained away and are excellent for anyone wanting to know what the truth is, or wanting to reach out to a science-minded person.

We give these as a set - as gifts now. They are that good.

Great DVD, We are privileged.

Created: 09/12/06
I first saw a piece of this documentary on TBN in which being a lover of GOD and science I decided to get this, in which I did.
It was very educational and lots of information about this great earth we live on. It explains alot on creation and other aspect of how things of the solar system works and points toward its undoubtful supernatural evidence of its supernatural MAKER. It show how privileged we are to be a part of this planet and universe.

The Privileged Planet

Richards + Gonzalez put together a compelling and thought provoking challenge to the status quo. Sound scientific evidence against the theories that secularist hold about the planet and it's inhabitants having no purpose or significance.A definite "must see" for any thinking human being. Also check out "Case for a Creator" and "Case for Christ" (both by Lee Strobel).
