Movie synopsis

Based on the bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Wurtzel, PROZAC NATION tells the true story of Wurtzel's own difficulties with severe depression during her first year at college. Liz (Christina Ricci) is a gifted writer whose talent earns her a scholarship to Harvard University. Escaping from the controlling arms of her mother (Jessica Lange), Liz's delicate mental state is tested by the stress of being away from home at a challenging institution. Finding refuge in drugs and sex, she views herself with increasing criticism, eventually unable to work on her writing at all. A character study with a loose narrative that explores the seriousness of depression, PROZAC NATION was directed by Erik Skjoldbjaerg (INSOMNIA).

Prozac Nation

The ultimate film for Christina Ricci fans. Based on the true story of writer Elizabeth Wurtzel. This film had a long delay for U.S.A. release and generally received less than flattering reviews. Christina Ricci is a very versatile actress and a unique beauty.

It's more then a Nation, It's Civilization......

This movie hits home on many levels, for many viewers, although it never says she is Borderline Personality Disorder, simply by seeing the movie, many people will notice this is where she is at in life, If you or someone you know has depression, this is a pretty good view of how people in this stance really feel, although every case is differently, I really enjoyed this unique perspective on our "prozac nation" Our world has transformed into a large market for many anti-depressants, and after viewing this movie, I think many more people will understand more of "why" it has. I recommend this video to people suffering from depression, as a way to see that you are not alone, and to people who enjoy movies that are real. This movie is based on a true story, so it has more of a reality factor then most others like it. A+

Prozac Nation... Worth the watch.

Created: 10/01/07
Had never seen 'Prozac Nation' when I decided to purchase it. I am, however, a fan of Christina Ricci who stars as the main character. Beyond that, there were quite a few great reviews on the movie that I had seen other places before my decision to buy.

I found that Christina Ricci's acting was very believable and she really brought you into her character's thoughts and mentality. With this movie you're able to follow her into some very trying and emotional times which some will be able to empathize with Christina Ricci's character.

I thought that the movie was done very well and would absolutely recommend it to any Christina Ricci fan, or really to anybody who likes a good, dramatic movie!

I liked this movie with Christina Ricci as the main character. She was believable with her acting the part and I will watch it again to see what I missed the first time...

It might work for YU

Created: 08/04/06
After FINALLY being diagnosed w/ clinical depression i was given 7 different medications which did nothing but give me the negative side effects.
Years later a new psychiatrist recommended PROZAC. I still take it.
If you're worried about depression, see a psychiatrist (don't be afraid to ask to see another if you don't get along), take the medication -it does NOT work overnight! If it doesn't work for you ASK to try Prozac, take it as directed. If it doesn't work, keep trying, there IS something out there for YOU.
