A LITTLE TOO 90'S

Created: 14/04/10
This film is for the rebel adolescent who likes to speak out. It really is not an adult flick. It reminds me of my high school and trying to speak out and be who we wanted to be while teachers and parents were overbearing. Its about a kid who has his own short wave radio and uses it to telecast his own radio station. He talks about life, what it is like being a teenager how his parents do not understand and how he just wants to be left alone. It was filmed in the 90's when coming out of the 80's put youth into a more technological world. It's an expressive movie from the perspective of an adolescent. I guess if you enjoy corny, empowered driven teenage flicks then you may like this. I give it a thumbs down and I wasted an hour and half of my life watching this movie.

This movie is appealing for several reasons. I suppose it takes you back to High School & you can sympathize with the characters. Issues of popularity, being awkward & having to conform to what your parents want for you. Christian Slater gives a great performance & shows sort of a dual persona in this film. His only outlet is being a pirate DJ to the local area most of whom are fellow students & Samantha Mathis character seems to figure out who he is & harasses him & makes him open up. I think the only thing from giving the dvd five stars is that there are limited features on the dvd.

The real pump of the volume

Created: 25/08/10
This is the Christian Slater movie that does it for me. What a message for teens to speak up and speak out. The reluctant hero theme is rampent throughout this movie. Free speak should never be tarnished, even if we the people sometimes don't like the content. A must see for any Slater fan!!!
