    Publisher's Note
Punchneedle embroidery is back-and it still features the same quick and simple technique as before. But credit for its modern revival must go to today's increasingly appealing designs, which result in charming works of miniature art. It's easy to get started: All that's needed are a punchneedle tool, embroidery hoop, fabric, floss, and the basics found here. Even beginners will soon be able to create exquisite projects that showcase timeless motifs, from flowers and crows to primitive stars. In addition to frameable punchneedle pieces, there are a handful of wearable accents and a gallery of the authors' works.

    Good For The Most Part.....

    Created: 01/11/10
Deciding that I wanted to learn needlepunch was easy, finding a book about it was a little more challenging. If you're a fan of folk art style like I am, you don't want to waste time on designs that are too cutesy or cartoonish, and buying a kit for your first project doesn't offer the learning process I wanted. The designs in this book are very nice, and I plan to make several of them. The instructions about the basics of needlepunch, how to thread and use the tool, what parts of the design to punch first, how to fill in the background, and how to progress through the design are very good. There are also good instructions and ideas for finishing your projects in various ways. One problem keeps bugging me - I am very surprised there is no mention of the kind of fabric used - it's called Weaver's Cloth (not easy to find in a fabric store, it's best to find a resourse on the internet or ebay.) If you know that, and are good at following instructions (and they need to be followed carefully) I believe you'll benefit from this book, although not telling you the right fabric to use is a huge omission! Needlepunch is an enjoyable craft, and the results are worth the time! The finished piece is like a miniature hooked rug, beautiful and interesting. There are many new threads on the market now that contain subtle shading and they really add to the beauty of your finished piece.

    Designs & Tios on Punchneedle

    Created: 28/07/09
I love that this author goes into new and exciting embroidery stitches for Punch needle. This is the first time that I have ever found something that I did not know already about punching. It's wonderful for the new people as well as us who have been punchng for years. I would recommed this book for all those that punch.
