An ideal book for anyone who loves the shore. The first complete guide to collecting, identifying, and understanding the history behind smooth glass shards found at the water's edge. More than 250 color photos pay tribute to both sea glass and the historical glassware that is frequently its source. Beachcombers can now use subtle clues regarding color and shape to determine age, rarity, and even origin.

Sea Glass Beach Glass Guide and Reference

    Created: 06/03/08
This book is an excellant source of a wide variety of general and basic information for new and existing sea glass beach glass collectors. As a reader, you are given an excellant history of what sea glass is, its history, and how it becomes the little frosted gems that are deposted on the beach. Great attention is given to individual colors, their identification and rarity. I specifically like how this book dedicates pages to individual color giving you bold pictures of the glass as you would find it and an example in its orginal form as bottles or tableware. If you are a new sea glass collector or experienced collector, this is a wonderful book to have as a guide for your personal collection.

The perfect reference for the beach house library!

    Created: 31/10/07
This helpful and beautifully layed out book is easy to reference by sea glass color. The intriguing history and science of sea glass are nicely sandwiched between colorful pages all dedicated to discarded and beach combed glass shards. The reader is given info about the origins of glass manufacturing paired with insights on the journey a piece takes after being discarded. We like it because it makes a nice accent to the coffee table in our beach home and because it's our number one sea glass reference.

    Pure Sea Glass

    Created: 24/10/09
I am new to collecting sea glass and this was the only reference book I could find on the subject. IT IS INCREDIBLE!!! It answers all your questions on where, when & how to look for sea glass. It also includes an informative history of glass which helps you figure out where your piece may have come from, where & how the colors where made. It is a truly amazing book that even a seasoned collector would enjoy due to all the history & fabrication information. ALL collectors should add this book to their library if they don't own it already.
