Better than what you might expect

| This one lens can be your new standard in creativity - doing the work of five lenses a 19mm, 20mm, 24mm, 28mm and 35mm. This 19-35mm zoom is constructed with high refraction, low dispersion (HLD) glass and multicoated lens elements produced by Hoya Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer of optical glass. The barrels of the lens are made from black poly carbonate to reduce the overall weight of the lens, making it a super convenient piece of equipment for photographers to carry while traveling, hiking or engaged in other activities where low weight counts. Better than what you might expect

) I use this lens with an N8008, an F100, and have tried it with a D70s.
Internet research shows that this is made by Tokina and marketed by Quantaray and perhaps Tamron.
This is a pretty acceptable lens when used with film (or full frame) cameras. It is rather sharp and gives some, but not a ton, of chromatic aberration along the extreme edges. There is a slight loss of sharpness in the widest angle, but if you step up the aperture a point or two it pretty much comes back.
With the D70s, the lens essentially duplicates the angles of the common DX lenses that are available. With the digital camera the image quality compares well with the mass market Nikon lenses like the 18 to 70mm as the smaller sensor size crops the larger image made by this lens. The outer areas that provide the most distortion are, therefore, lost.
As a bonus - the filter mount does not rotate. This was good for me as I tend to use polarizing filters a bit.
Remember that this is an inexpensive lens that happens to be better quality than what you are paying for...this is not a thousand dollar lens that sells for a few Jacksons. Don't expect it to compete with similar Nikon lenses.

) Good little lens haven't had a real chance to try it out.What I did do is shoot some pictures around the house and it done well.When better weather comes I'll be able to put it to a real test but for now it seems to do well
