    Movie synopsis

Set in the year 2015, just after Earth's civilizations have been all but wiped out by the Mu invaders, the RAHXEPHON anime series finds a high school student named Ayato Kamina struggling to escape the rubble after an attack on his city leaves him trapped. Finally freeing himself from the debris, Ayato meets a girl named Reika Mishima who takes him to a secret sanctuary that houses the war's civilian survivors. There, a humanoid mechanical weapon named RahXephon emerges from a black egg, bearing the same marking as one Ayato has on his body. It becomes apparent that Ayato is the only one who can pilot the mecha, and he soon realizes that he might be the only person able to defend the world from more destruction. Directed by designer Yutaka Izubuchi (PATLABOR, GUNDAM WING, COWBOY BEBOP), RAHXEPHON is acclaimed for its innovative music, animation, and complex plot and character development. This collection includes the complete series.

RahXephon-Complete Collection 2005, DVD BoxSet Japanese

    Created: 07/05/08
Japanese Superior to American versions, AMEN! Translations tend to bite, & are wrong 89% of the time. Learn Japanese, it is a far better Anime experience by far!
ORIGINAL STORY...BONES (also produced the Animation) CREATED BY YUTAKA IZUBUCHI (also produced) These guys have been around a while & write the best stuff, never talking down to thier audiences.
MUSIC....KHIKO HASHIMOTO (has been with Fuji TV for 15 years in addition to being one of Japans best composers) The music is excellent, espesially the original stuff. The timing & matching is superior in this 7 disc set.
    ORIGINAL CHARACTER DESIGNS....AKIHIRO YAMADA
ORIGINALLY for FUJI TELEVISION NETWORK, INC.

This is some of the finest anime artwork in any 7 disc box set coming out of Japan originating as a television show. It also has some of the best music and of an excellent quality. This is not kids stuff.

This is a sharp, well written, intelligent, bawdy, risque, non-stop-action anime that will keep you on the edge of your seat that will not fail to disappoint; while being fun and a great Pop-corn munchy anime at the same time.
It has a little something for everyone.

Military buffs will love the mecha, tanks, war ships, and especially the floating Mega-City-Aircraft-Carrier-Super-Vessels! There are floating Cities on the Seas, in the seas, and other suprises!

Sci-Fi fans will overdose on mind controled floating Megalopolises, War machines, ultra-dimentional Jupiter encased time zoned earth parrallels containing Tokyo and 129 square mile areas! Musically controlled levitational devices. Trans-dimensional drive war planes....and these are just a few.

There are romantic stories interwoven into the plots & sub plots. And there are many and intricate.

Mysteries enough to make your head spin, it seems like one around every corner....did I mention action and adventure?

And who the Hell is this old man and his foundation that have been around since the 1500's?

What is the connection to the Ancient Mayans?

Why is there a United Earth Government, an Organization called TERRA, and a strange FOUNDATION, all working....or is it competing....to defete the invading MU from another dimension that have captured Tokyo in a dimensional Jupiter, & return it to the rest of the world? Will they succede, or will the world end.....watch and find out for yourself, maybe.

    Excellent graphics.
Balanced audio music & voice overs with no bleeds or tweeks.
Details as well done as the galaxy work.
Well synched to both English & Japanese language with almost no lag time.
Excellent music on a par with symphony recordings.
    FIVE of FIVE STAR RATINGS!

Uncle Dan thinks it is one for your collection worth watching over & over again!

    I was tricked :(

Indeed, the box set contains all of the RaXephon episodes. But instead of receiving the normal 7 disc version of the box set, I was sent a 3 disc version. The movie included...but I can't access it from the scene selection and I have to play through the last episode in order to get to it XP Yes, I have the whole series now. But I don't appreciate that I got tricked into buying a different version of the box set from what I thought I was buying. The picture of the box set isn't even accurate.

    Oh Evange..oh wait

As most of this series is a blatant rip off of Neon Genesis Evangelion, which to this day is one of the greatest premiere anime titles. This series cannot be ignored, it is decently fast paced, with great music and an amazing story. As far as I know it keeps getting cheaper, you can pick it up brand new for around 40 dollars and is around 25 episodes long, I picked up a used copy with shipping for $25.

As for the 2nd american re-release, the credits are great and the extras (though weak) are very enjoyable. If you can pick up the original 7 disc set that was released in 2002/2003, do so.
