Product Information
Read Dead Revolver is a third-person gun slinging action game, powered with arcade-style gameplay that takes place in the Wild West era. In a nod to westerns like Once Upon a Time in the West, the game's story sees the family of young protagonist, Red, brutally massacred by Mexican General Diego. With his father's gun in hand, Red later sets out on a deadly mission of pure blood vengeance. As the game progresses, Red learns how to ride, mount and dismount a horse, and wield an arsenal of weapons from pistols and shotguns to rifles and dynamite. There are 30 different weapons altogether. Originally commissioned by Japanese publisher Capcom, the game was picked up by Rockstar (who bought the game's developer Angel Studios) after being in limbo for more than a year.

I bought this game to sate my cravings for more western action after thoroughly finishing its spiritual sequel, Red Dead Redemption. I wasn't banking on getting the same game with different packaging, but I have come to expect a lot better from Rockstar's development team. From the very start of the game, there is an endless parade of bugs and serious design flaws that will frustrate seasoned gamers and newcomers alike; Support characters that can (and will!) shoot you for no good reason, sluggish targeting systems, superfluous mission objectives, and several points where random luck makes the difference between complete success and abject failure. The whole game left me with the feeling that it hadn't been play tested much, if at all. That said, it has a bit of the old Rockstar cheek and flair about it, and the multiplayer shoot-em-up game in particular is pretty decent. I did enjoy the variety of playable characters, and the action is really pretty fun when it isn't being bogged down by swarms of bugs or horrible design. If you loved Red Dead Redemption and are looking to this game as an expansion of the franchise, you will very likely be very disappointed. There is virtually no character or story overlap, no geographical overlap, and only a little play style overlap. But the most important difference, I think, is that Red Dead Revolver is very linear, and has no sandbox elements like its successor. At no point do you get to choose your path. All in all, I would say that this game's single-player mode is very weak on its own, and unless multiplayer shoot-outs are your cup of tea, it isn't worth the headache you will get from playing it. Do yourself a favor, and just go play Red Dead Redemption instead.

Extremely fun game.

If your a fan of westerns and video games red dead revolvers right up your ally, yes we've got bandits, outlaws, wild indians, and even crazed side show freaks. Yes this game has a wide array of enemies and bosses but not only are there several bad guys theres plenty of good guys aswell all of which you can play as at one time or another. The plot is very good and I absolutly love the dueling of this game its difficult to master but in the short cut scenes of precise button mashing when you get it just perfect it makes you feel like quite the gunslinger because this is the only game you will find were you can do such a thing. Red Dead Revolver is something special, the multiplayer mode is tremendous, you can select from any character in the game essentially bosses and even the ordinary enemy are at your disposal all though for some reason the multiplayer is set to strange poker like scoring which has always confused me at any rate it still very fun. I would have liked to see more towns to visit other than Brimstone(the main setting) although you visit several vacant ones. If this game just gave you a little more freedom and allowed you to explore the west on your own instead of regimented levels I would give this game a definite 5 but nevertheless check out Red Dead Revolver its a great game.

Red Dead

This was a great game for precision and accuracy practice. I liked the story mode, but was sad to know it could only go for one player. I also like the fact that you could play with three other plays. Makes the game more interactive. I just wish there were more games that were like Champions on Norath where you could play with multiple players in story mode. Other than that, this game was great.

Very good game

This game is very good. Single player mode is highly structured in terms of level progression. The controls are explained well, but can be a bit confusing. During missions you can buy characters and levels for multiplayer mode and diary pages that give the back story about the characters. Many of these items however are offered for sale only once during the game. If you don't have enough to buy it you will have to wait until you beat the game and then you will have to go through the whole game again. Multiplayer mode is a lot of fun and playing with different poker rules is very creative. This game does allow up to 4 players, but with more than 2 players the screens are small and it can be hard to see what is going on. Overall I am glad that I bought this game.
