Red Faction (PC, 2001)

This has to be the best First Person Shooter in the market today (even though it's an old game). Sure its an old game but so far in my opinion there is no other game that matches the game play on it. Well it's best when played online.

THQ no longer supports the auto-update. It's good to know that there are places where it's still available.
I recommend this game to any one with a true appreciation for on-line gameplay. Lets not forget about the Geo-mod technology that to this day no other game has even come close to duplicating. It's fun to blow up holes to make new pathways. :)

This game was surprisingly good for an older FPS from 2001. There was a couple of bugs....the game had trouble in 1 place because of the frame rate speed of my computer. I could not get my sub into the water without it always exploding...with some research on the web I found that if I loaded another game or IE and set the priority to high it would lower the frame rate enough to get the sub into the water without exploding. The game played great other than that one part.

I liked this game the story line was on point and everything about the gameplay was smooth. This game doesn't have the best graphics but it's sufficient. The weapons have a good feel it's not like other games where you are shooting cartoony weapons and just spray bullets. This game actually has a feel like counter strike where you could just click once and go for the head shot. I really enjoyed the multi-player even though it's so old. People still play! It's really fast paced and fun, with the GeoMod if you shoot someone w/ a rocket the wall falls apart if they are beside it. I dunno. Seems like one of those good ideas that just didn't get enough advertisement.

I purchased this game because it was a fps,and I'm tired of all That I own.It appeared to be a well put together,but when I loaded it,it shattered,the picture that is. I could not get it to play on my pc. I figured my pc had to much for the game to handle.I have several games this way. That's why the poor rating. wmt

The game play is original and it is really sweet that it has destructable environments. Unfortunately, to play with friends you cant really set up a server without going through a really long process. Gameplay is fun though
