Remington Steele - Season 2 (DVD, 2005, 4-Disc Set)

Pierce Brosnan, Stephanie Zimbalist|Theatrical release: 1983 | Rating: Not Rated

Movie synopsis

A popular dramedy of the early '80s, REMINGTON STEELE starred a young and dashing Pierce Brosnan before he became 007. Stephanie Zimbalist co-stars as Laura Holt, a beautiful young private eye trying to get her business off the ground. Unfortunately, she finds that female P.I.'s don't receive a lot of business, so she invents a male superior for whom she "works," and renames her business after him. Suddenly cases come pouring in, but Laura soon finds herself confronted by a handsome thief who calls himself Remington Steele; he cons her into a partnership in which she does the work and he "takes the bows." This works well for business purposes, but the two are constantly at odds, creating an exciting sexual tension and much opportunity for humor. The second season includes such episodes as "Steele Away with Me," where Laura and Remington go to Acapulco when Laura finds a tuna stuffed with diamonds and wrapped in a newspaper from the Mexican resort town left on her doorstep. Also included is "A Steele at Any Price," where Steele goes undercover in a band of master art thieves, and "My Fair Steele," where the P.I.'s use a young woman's secret twin to secure her inheritance.

A Classic Series Which Improves With Age

Created: 08/07/06
Big hair, shoulder pads, fancy duds, limousines and murder....everything you wanted in an 80's retro series. Been so long since I originally saw the series on TV, it's like visiting with an old friend you'd lost touch with. This series took Pierce Brosnan from a virtual unknown to a star - and rightly so.

We loved the series and in particular loved the retrospectives from the cast and producers who explained a lot of the background stuff. As they said, "this was before computer-graphic imaging. These scenes were all real".

Season 2 included the introduction of Doris Roberts as Myrtle Krebs. What a wonderful addition! In an early episode Myrtle purchased a classic Auburn convertible which added a lot of pizzazz to the series. As the creators say, they fashioned this series after some 1940's Cary Grant films and it worked.

This series is well worth looking into: it's a sexy adventure comedy-drama that will knock your socks off!

Remington Steele - Season 2 DVD's

Created: 11/03/08
Remington Steele was one of my all time favorite shows, plus the fact that I love Pierce Brosnan and Stephanie Zimbalist. The chemistry between Pierce and Stephanie was so excellent and enjoyable to watch. There was action galore but everything was clean and not the gory stuff so many shows today are made of! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants just a good clean, but very entertaining show to watch over and over.

pleasantly surprised

Purchased Season One of Remington, and was very happy to find that the show appeals as much to me today as it did in the eighties. Season One is good, but unless I missed them there were no comments by Stephanie, only by Pierce, the gal who played Bernice, and the behind the scenes folks.
Season Two, however, has comments from Pierce, Stephanie and Doris, including Doris' comments about how she got the part. Season Two also includes my personal favorite episode "Love Among the Steele", the one with the classic car.
Both Seasons One and Two are worth buying, but if have to choose only one, I recommend Season Two.

I Love Remington Steele

Recently my mother told me that she was sorry that she re-recorded over the Remington Steele episodes. I vaguely remembered watching this show when I was young. So, for Mother's Day, I surprised her with the Remington Steele espisodes Season 1,2,3. We have all enjoyed watching them and they are rotating to all friends and family. Everyone she has loaned them to has really enjoyed watching them! Great episodes and Dvd is easy to navigate. It also has great commentary and star appearances!

Remington Steele was one of favorties growing up and it seems to be the only show that doesn't have re-runs. So I decided to buy them. I am enjoying them just as much as I did so many years ago and I like to hear the commentaries.
