    Product Information
Raccoon City has somehow fallen victim to a zombie outbreak and it's up to you as either police officer Leon Kennedy, or Claire Redfield (sister to Chris Redfield from RE1), to find out what's going on. The adventure, which takes place in 3D using pre-rendered backgrounds, drags you through spooky crash sites, abandoned buildings, experiments gone wrong and more -- all the while battling undead monstrosities, solving puzzles and, most of all, trying to stay alive. Lots of weapons and other gadgetry allow for some truly disgusting mayhem. RE2 for Dreamcast is exactly the PlayStation game of the same name, just in a higher resolution display mode.

One of the best Playstation games comes to Dreamcast!

    Created: 18/03/08
This was one of the BEST Playstation games made for the system and it now makes it move to the Sega Dreamcast. Supporting the greatest hits version with new features, new modes, new files and new costumes this game made it BIG. Only so many were made for the system as the system was starting to die when it was released!

You play as either Claire Redfield(sister to Chris Redfield from the original Resident Evil) or play as rookie cop new comer Leon Kennedy. Just as both characters arrive in town everyone seems to be "insane". After parting ways Claire and Leon must make it out of Raccoon City alive with other survivors Ada Wong and Sherry Birkin. Both would never have imagine seeing what they saw in Raccoon City. Will Claire and Leon make it out alive or will the fear and what lurks behind every corners get them both......

Resident Evil 2 was also featured on Nintendo 64 and PC which are both hard to find now.

Resident Evil 2: as all Resident Evils, darn sweet!

    Created: 02/03/09
Capcom didn't make the game for the Dreamcast from the ground up like they did with Code Veronica. Therefore, it does not show off the power of the Dreamcast the way Code Veronica does. They essentially reused the Playstation version graphics, but use a much higher screen resolution and the graphics are much clearer and cleaner overall, as compared to the weak capabilities of the playstation. This is very similar to what they did with RE3 and Nightmare Creatures 2, where basically they take the PS version of the game, increase the resolution, filter out the horrible pixels that the playstation would have produced in most parts of the game, and re-release it for the Dreamcast rather than rebuild it from the ground up. Still, this is obviously the most superior version of this game, as is the case with most games released for Dreamcast. LONG LIVE SEGA!

    RESIDENT EVIL!

    Created: 05/06/06
well i must say that there are few games like this in the world. it's fun, it's scary, it's funny, and it's a classic. it's an excellent game.

The gameplay is awesome for one; it mostly consists of solving sometimes difficult puzzles and killing the evil creatures that lurk around raccoon city. the controls are easy and responsive. the sound is awesome. the environment is scary. and it's very intersting and fun to play.

the graphics are a bit outdated but it doesn't really matter that much because the game is just so awesome to play in the first place. while they're not good, they're not particularly THAT bad, i mean this game did come out in 1998 and it looks pretty good for its time.

i really liked Residebt Evil 2 and i think you should give it a shot. turn out the lights, grab your dreamcast and a pair of headphones, and get ready for some good scary fun. enjoy!

RE2 on Dreamcast....Best version Avail, Period!

    Created: 07/02/09
Years ago, I played this game to the hilt on the Orig. Playstation, and in this "update", it's almost identical but even better.

Graphics: More definition, colors are a bit brighter, not as many pixels, so a majority of the graphics are smoother. Best version that of RE2 I have seen (even tops PC version)

Extras: Pictures, movies, "Nightmare" game...some good stuff not seen since the old Diehard Gamefan walkthrough book (which I have...and that old mag is my fav for gaming mags)

Dislikes: Graphics in some of the dark scenes were very dark. Not 100% sure if that was my flatscreen or not.

Likes: Everything else. Great game. Pure classic. Get the VGA box, you won't be disappointed.

P.S. Stay away from RE3 on the Dreamcast. Zero upgrades from Playstation version, and it really looks it...graphics are just not what an "upgrade" should be.

    Resident Evil 2

A great horror game classic for the Sega Dreamcast. It's fun suspense, thriller game.Searching for clues to advance while warding off monsters.Leaving you on edge. The story line is pretty good, & the graphics is still excellent.I love all the Resident Evil saga. The only thing I didn't like is the cinematic camera angle set up,"But",once you get the hang of it,it's a great game to play.
