Great old cartoon!
Created: 17/11/10
Being a huge Planet of the Apes fan i had to have this set. The cartoon allowed the creators to take the franchise in a direction that was previously un-affordable to them. The original movie was supposed to show the Apes in older "HUMANOID" cars, planes, buildings etc... but due to budget they decided to make the Apes a more primitive race. When originally shown, the cartoon series was not always played in sequence so getting to see them in order is really a treat!

Great vintage animated series

Reinterpretation of the Planet of the Apes storyline for Saturday morning viewers works quite well, and suprisingly intelligent for a 70s "kiddie" cartoon. Definitely should not be missed by any serious fans of the film series.

Animated version is a fun follow-up.

The animated characters are definitely recognizable from the original films and the TV series. Its interesting to see how the Gorillas have advanced, their modern cities, cars, etc. Story line has an interesting twist or two.

Return to the Planet of the apes

I watched and followed these cartoons when they were first aired. The music and voices and pace of the animation made it just as haunting as the first movie. The idea that General Urko is voiced by Fred Flintstone adds a classic touch as well....evryone who reads this I urge you to buy yourself one.
