Movie synopsis

In this campy, classic musical tribute to the rock legends the Ramones, the students of Vince Lombardi High School are a wild and rebellious bunch who are sick of sitting in school--they want to go see the Ramones in concert. With the lowest academic scores in Southern California and pathetic athletic teams that haven't won a game in years, the school's last three principals had nervous breakdowns and were committed to the funny farm. But that's no concern to the kids, who just want to rock. Riff Randall, the leader of the frisky students, writes the song "Rock 'N' Roll High School" and leads a brigade of her peers to a Ramones concert. However, when a fierce new principal cracks the whip and attempts to silence the rock music by burning stacks of the students' records, a riot breaks out. The Ramones arrive at school and join forces with the students to take over the school and, in a glorious exclamation of victory, burn it down. The terrific soundtrack includes such Ramones favorites as "Blitzkrieg Bop," "Pinhead," and "Teenage Lobotomy" in addition to the title track.

a rock and roll classic

This is a great little B-movie that has become a classic over the years, mainly because it features The Ramones predominantly throughout the movie. P.J. SOles is great as "Riff Randall" A high school girl who only want to rock and roll and who constantly butts heads with the evil principal, "Miss Tolgar." Great music, great performances by the Ramones...and they blow up the high school in the end!

Oddball comedy starring New York punk rockers

Created: 25/09/09
When your school is in trouble, what can you do? Did you say, bring in 1970s punk legends the Ramones? Well, that's what happened here. Vince Lombardi High School is in the dumps, with a mean new principal, Evelyn Togar. The Ramones arrive to save the day. Not a bad idea! Plenty of songs and funny gags. If you need a laugh, get this movie. Fans of the band will enjoy it even more.

One of the greatest rock & roll movies of all time!

Created: 19/01/10
Obviously, as this is a cult B movie, it is not one of those films which received all sorts of award. But, it is one of the best short sets of music you will find by the Ramones. Sure it is campy, and sort of corney in a few ways, but that's what Roger Corman does best. There are some real actors in this movie, just not the Ramones, who look like deer caught in the headlights in most of thier parts. But, all in all it is a good movie worth your time and energy, and maybe even the kids. Sure it is dated, but in this case seeing the Ramones try to act, and then do a great live set, is all worth the effort. So, the next time it is raining outside and you really don't feel like cleaning up the house, sit down, turn up the volume, and watch history in motion. There has never been, and never will be again another Ramones. Dig it!

Rock N Roll High School

Created: 05/07/06
This is truly a 70's/80's movie. If you love the Ramones, it has a ton of their music in it. And the whole plot of the movie is so stupid that it will make you laugh at these dumb teenagers. It's a good classic to laugh at the things they used to where and to listen to some real rock n roll music. The entire movie is so dramatic and absurd that it's just plain funny. So, if you like movies with a lot of music in it and a classic plot, this is a good movie for you.
