Rocketman (DVD, 2005)

This is one of our family's favorite movies! We discovered Rocketman by accident at a movie rental store several years back when it was only out on vhs. All of our friends say they love it also. This movie is about a man's dream come true of flying into space. The man, Fred Randall, is a hoot! This is comedy at it's best. It is a good, clean movie for the family and a lot of laughs for everyone.

I purchased the DVD "Rocketman" because I love this movie. What can I say, Harlan Williams is funny. Words cannot describe how funny he is.

I had purchased this DVD a few months ago. My son borrowed the movie so he could watch it. For those who have teenagers, you should know that they tend to be scatter-brained and forget the simple rules. "If you borrow something, put it back." Well, he played the movie in his Xbox 360 instead of the DVD player (I have no clue why he did this). After the movie was over, he took it out of the Xbox and laid the movie on the dog cage (I don't know why he did this either). Well, we have a 5 month old labradoodle who is going through this phase of losing her puppy teeth and what comes with that? chewing everything in sight. You guessed it, she saw the movie on her cage and started to chew the crap out of it until my scatter-brained son took it away and only then did he put the DVD back in the box. So, I purchased another DVD for keepsake. (That's how much I love this movie!) All I can say is good thing I put the first movie I purchased on my computer so I can watch it whenever I want.

If you get a chance to watch this movie, I highly recommend it. It is safe for children of all ages to watch, afterall it is a Disney movie. All I can say is grab a bowl of popcorn, your favorite non-alcoholic beverage, get the kids and watch it. [You could also have dinner & a movie (pizza around the coffee table works great!)]. For you professional people who never/seldom see their kids, schedule a date with them. Throw your hectic schedule/morals out the window, turn off the pager(s), the cell phone(s), turn the ringer off to the house phone(s) and just be a kid. You will enjoy the time well spent and so will your kids. If your kids enjoy this, set aside time every week to spend with them. I have a very hectic schedule. Two nights a week is "movie night". Before movie night, we hardly saw one another, hardly spent any time together but now, we are a more closely knit family. It's movies like this that brought us together. Thanks Rocketman!

Had this movie on VHS when my sons were young and it was a favorite. Loaned it out and never came back. After 5+ years we all watched it again. We laughed constantly back then and now again ... but keep in mind my wife and I are engineers and the oldest son is studying to be a Chem E. Admittedly Slap Stick comedy but still very funny. I can't believe this movie hasn't gotten more attention. It could easily evolve to cult status in the engineering community. Highly recommended.

This movie is hilarious and very slapstick, so if that's your kind of humor I definitely recommend the movie. It's a little outdated, but still enjoyable. GREAT family movie!

This is a very light hearted even goofy story about a software guru who gets to live out his childhood dream and become an astronaut. The story is shallow, and plot thin but it makes you smile and sometimes that is all is needed. All in all it’s fairly well directed and acted but don’t expect miracles. After all it it’s not a miracle movie, but it is a good watch and it certainly won’t offend.
