The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show - Complete Season 1 (DVD, 2003, 4-Disc Set)

Luaghed my XXX off. I am an editor by profession. And I loved how it was put together. I have always been a fan of Rocky Bullwinkle show. But did not really get an opportunity to watch or recall all the episodes in my youth. Thanks to this dvd set. I now know how the characters full story and can appreciate the series even more. I hesitated ordering the other seasons unitl I reviewed the first season. I now cant wait to get the other seasons and complete the set. This will be the first cartoon collection I have ever purchased. So it had alot to live up to. And I must say I not only met but it surpassed my expectations. Which says alot for the creators of this dvd set. Since I have extensive experience in the field of production. I must also mention to anyone who is thinking about purchasing this set. The quality of the actual cartoon is very elementry compared to the cartoons of today. I personally feel that this added to the appeal of the collection. And would encourage adults to share these episodes with the children of today. The writing and messages deplicted are (I believe)unsurpassed by todays cartoons. And the great storys would keep the interest of even the most desriminating children of today.

Uncut late 1950's and early 1960's TV cult classic. With cartoon channels cutting the old series (not just Bullwinkle) it is nice to see these again without commercials. I do wish the cable channels would lessen the commercials. But I know better, so that's why I bought this and other DVD's of old and current shows. No commercials. Nice set, well placed one sided DVD's make for easy play.

This is boxed set of four DVD's, all excellent quality. They come in a beautiful fold-out DVD case with pictures, a 16 page booklet, and an interesting behind-the-scenes written by the daughter of the creator. You watch the entire first season in the order in which it was broadcast. This is a very well-done, well-packaged set of DVDs. If you're a Rocky and Bullwinkle fan, this is the only DVD to buy.

I see review after review on these sets crying because the music is different. Yeah it's a bit of a letdown but SO WHAT!? The show is still awesome, in its pure form, and free from all the BS enhancing mumbo jumbo all the classics seem to get these days (what the hell was wrong with the original Star Wars George?). Anywho if you loved this show in your younger days like I did you really can't go wrong here. Each edition of the set in quite large in size, encompassing many hours of viewing. Also the volumes can be found at tremendous prices through varying resources. If you're paying over $15 a volume then you aren't doing your homework. So yeah for about $60 to $70 you can own all four volumes, not bad for hours and hours of true animated storytelling that you can bring out and pass on to a new generation in your home. Seriously, one season of many series run anywhere between $30 and $60 each, this really is a great value!

A blast from the past! Of course Peabody and everyone else is in it. I did think this season was in black and white and this was in color. Very well done. Many hours of enjoyment. 4 cd's, nicely packaged. Nice to see show's from "our" time and my children can not believe how simple foolish shows made us so happy and still do today. Well worth the money.
