    Product Information
On the hostile planet of Nu Earth, there are tales of a lone warrior. A man who appears out of thin air to take out whole platoons, then disappears back into the shadows. In the centre of a futile war, one man can swing the balance: the ultimate soldier and last survivor of the massacred Genetic Infantrymen, hell-bent on revenge ... the Rogue Trooper.

Based on the 2000AD comic series, Rogue Trooper, Rogue Trooper blends intense third person action and next generation stealth. Rogue's arsenal offers him a unique advantage over his opponents; encoded bio-chips containing the digitized personalities of his fallen comrades are implanted in his gun (Gunnar), helmet (Helm) and backpack (Bagman). Rogue Trooper features intense online gameplay modes, where gamers can experience up to four-player co-operative gameplay in all new maps.

    Great Game For The Price

    Created: 02/06/06
Ever since online play has been available on the both the PS2 and Xbox system that's pretty much all I play and defnitely is my most influential decision when buying a new game. This game sells brand new for $29 in the USA to start.
The online play is fun, however the game came out tuesday 5/30/06 and I've only counted less than 50 players online and at any given time you'll find less than 10. That doesn't mean it's a bad game, not at all....it's one of the best games online, you can play two types of games, stronghold, where you defend one of your AI team mates from the alien forces or, progressive, where you travel with your team, kill all evil doers and make it to the end. There are only 7 or so maps and with the price as low as it is I'm not too optomistic for any additional support, but hey you never know. The voice chat is enabled as is the keyboard chat in lobby only. You have game filters and the ability to boot bad players too.
The regular game mode is very good also. You have a wide range of weapons, with upgrades which you apply as you move through the game. There aren't any tough puzzles to solve or anywhere where you'll get really stuck.
There is some blood in the game, but you can turn it off, so this game could be appropiate for even pre-teens.
    B+

Some improvement welcome, but still an excellent game

    Created: 16/01/07
For the last three days I've played nothing but Rogue Trooper. The story line just keeps growing. The story writters are pretty clever, and nothing is really all that far fetched when you take everything into perspective. "Rogue" the main charater you're playing is an engineered mutant infantry soldier sent with his comrads to defend a war they nearly loose all in the first hour of deployment. The plot thickens as someone from the inside is suspect for the rapid loss of forces.

One of the few quams I have with this game are a few bugs I've encountered. The sticky gernades plant themself in the dumbest locations despite your efforts. I've seen plenty of them just hover in mid air for no apparent reason. At least there are checkpoints frequently enough through the game you can rethink your strategy. I encountered a second issue trying to reclaim Gunner from a sentry gun mode. When I attempted to pick him up, I went running off into one direction for no apparent reason. Eventually I died and restarted from the checkpoint. *sigh*. Another problem happened after I placed micromines near a respawn point for spiders. As I was exiting the cave for cover, atleast one spider was spawned triggering an explosion. The game froze dead in its tracks. Had to restart and resume from a save on the memory card.

The AI from the enemy can be pretty satrical at times. Enemies can loose their attention on you (great for kill moves = extra salvage) with the halodecoy, or even Gunner as a sentry. They become invalueable tools to stay alive while you evade decapitators, snipers, and relentless enemies. You'll learn new tricks as you progress through the game. Not all upgrades are created equal, but some are vital at key points.

Some of the game play, story and tatics are similar to Red Faction, also an EDIOS game. Red Faction has funner extras with destorying structures, but Rogue Trooper has much of the same structure engines it seems. (Durring game play, I'd get disoriented thinking I was playing Red Faction, or I'd have a fleeting thought from the game!)

Over all it was well worth it.

    An Excellent Shooter

    Created: 08/10/06
This game helps define what some 3RD person shooters are missing. You can use fallen enemies as salvage to make ammo and weapons. This can also make upgrades for the weapons so they can hold more ammo and be more damaging as enemies get a bit tougher and stronger. You can get help from allies when you get them. You can lay as much micro mines as you could. Even when you eliminate snipers or lazooka you get a different type of salvage points for that enemy type. You get many different types of weapons from a machine gun(gunnar), to a sammy launcher and the favorite shotgun. The Ai is decent and can act stupidly sometimes. You can take control of Hell's Cannon to take out subs or Flak cannon to take out the Hoppas(Helicopters). Weapon implacements are also set. You can find hidden salvage ang can set up holodecoys to confuse the enemy. You get three different types of microchip up grades: helm, gunnar, and bagman. The relationship between these guys are enough to get you laughing. This game helps define 3RD person shooters.

Nothing but good things to say

I found this game to be a great fun game, i especially liked the fact that they show you what direction to go to get to your next target i hate games that are mazes and take forever to figure out where to go. Plenty of neat weapons and interesting things in this game. I got hooked didnt want to stop playing. I would recommend this game!
