Root into Europe
Created: 06/07/10
Five-part series about a self-made man, Henry Root, and his Lady Wife, taking a continental tour just before the European Union was established. All the stereotypes of the various countries visited are highlighted with the locals constantly being astonished by the Brits who don't quite seem to "get it". Uses real famous Europeans (such as a young Richard Branson)playing themselves which adds to the fun. A lot of laughs even though a little bit dated and well worth seeing - one of my favorite British comedies. Ends with a teaser about "going to America" which I don't think ever happened. Seems to be available only in VHS so don't look for a DVD copy.
