Roswell - Season 1 (DVD, 2004, 6-Disc Set)

I love Roswell. My friend got me hooked on it because she had all 3 seasons on DVD so we basically just watched for hours. It's that addicting.

Reasons Roswell (Season 1) is great:
-The plot lines are interesting. Even though it's a show about alien teens trying to live a normal life in New Mexico, you become more interested in the characters themselves rather than dwelling on their powers. Don't get me wrong, it's really cool finding out the history of Max, Michael, and Isabel, and seeing them develop their powers BUT that's not all the show is about.
-The characters are all easy to relate to no matter what age you are.
-The actors and actresses are all beautiful so, not going to lie, it's nice to watch. My friend and i would swoon over the 2 main romantic couples, Max/Liz and Michael/Maria, like schoolgirls.
-In the show, the writers tackle real issues that real teens would face.

Reasons Roswell (Season 1) may not be so great:
-The actors and actresses, while beautiful, don't all look like high school students, especially Max (Jason Behr). That's sort of the standard for WB television shows so you just have to accept it.

I decided to buy it because I wanted to own it myself and stop bothering my friend to borrow hers. It was definitely worth the money because you can watch these episodes over and over again.

Compared to the other seasons of Roswell I'd say this one is on the same level as Season 2. Season 3 wasn't my favorite. Season 1 is great and I highly reccommend it.

For people who say it's storylines are outlandish or unbelievable, it's a fiction show! If you do decide to buy this show (which I hope you do) just sit back and enjoy!

This show had our entire family mesmerized for a few months as we watched all three seasons. Season One draws in you in and you immediately begin relating to the characters. It combines Roswell, New Mexico as the campy hq of Alien hunters , real Aliens and some inter-species relationships and weaves an interesting tale that makes you watch the shows for hours at a time. Very well done. Romantic, funny, Sci-fi - has it all!

This is a great series! I have only seen it from time to time but I enjoyed it. This was the chance to see it all right in a row and get a better understanding of the show. I already have season two on its way!!! It is an interesting premise, aliens, of sorts, going to school with your kids! At least they are nice aliens!!! My daughter grabbed these DVD's from me before I got them into the house, she got to see them first, OF COURSE! You can't fight off a teenager that likes something. Overall, a great watch!!

I am a science fiction nut, my husband says if we had the Sci-Fi channel he would never see me. This was a great series, it is ashamed that it did not spin off into another show. There are two few shows that are cultivating the imagination along with telling a story that implements right and wrong. It showed a lot of things right with the youth of today, and some of the possibilities of the future with imagination and tenacity. I loved the dynamics of the family structure, some good, some bad. How to deal and not deal with stressful situations. The characters were not just some unrealistic kids, but had dept and intelligence. Great show.

Roswell is a great series, once you do get into it. I bought the first season at a garage sale and I normally do not watch "seasons" of TV shows but I was hooked and ended up buying all three seasons. They had some nice "twists" and the characters were sarcastic at times, which makes it funny. So I would say this would appeal to the younger and middle age crowd. But I am not an expert on this.
