I bought the Jitterbug Cell Phone the 1st of November for my wife who is vision impaired.
She really wanted the features that were only offered by Jitterbug which include:

There is an activation fee of $39.95 and their Nationwide Service starts at $14.99 per month, with no contracts or prepaid hassles. Jitterbug rate plans are also flexible, so you can select a different plan at any time and there are no hidden charges for switching plans. Plus, you can call ANYWHERE in the U.S. at ANYTIME and you’ll never pay roaming or long distance fees.

You have to send Jitterbug cell phones that are purchased from non-Jitterbug service centers to Jitterbug Customer Service for reactivation reprogramming which takes approximately 10 business days.

JITTERBUG CELL PHONE A120

THIS PHONE IS AWESOME AND WAS A GREAT DEAL. TO BUY NEW FROM J-BUG SITE THEY WERE JUST UNDER $150.00. WE DID HAVE TO SEND THIS PRE-OWNED J-BUG PHONE OUT TO THE COMPANY TO BE REPROGRAMMED WHICH TOOK A FEW WEEKS, BUT ONCE WE GOT IT BACK, IT WAS ALL SET TO GO WITH A NEW NUMBER, ETC. NICE AND EASY TO USE AND MADE FOR THE HEARING AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED. IT HAS GREAT VOLUME WHICH IS LOUD AND THE DISPLAY IS GREAT AS WELL WITH BIG NUMBERS SO IT IS EASY TO SEE. NO TEXTING, CAMERA, INTERNET, ETC. SIMPLE BASIC PHONE TO MAKE AND RECEIVE CALLS WHICH IS WHAT WE WANTED. I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE J-BUG CELL PHONES TO ANYONE AND IF YOU CAN FIND ONE USED ON EBAY, GRAB IT. IT WILL SAVE YOU LOTS OF MONEY. THE OTHER GREAT THING ABOUT THESE PHONES ARE THE PLANS. YOU PAY MONTH TO MONTH FOR THE PLAN YOU PICK WHICH CAN BE CHANGED AT ANY TIME AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN A CONTRACT AND GET CHARGED FEES TO CANCEL EARLY AS YOU DO WITH MOST CELL PHONES TODAY. TOTALLY HAPPY WITH OUR PURCHASE. IN FACT MY FRIEND LIKED OURS SO MUCH THAT SHE ASKED ME TO GET HER DAD ONE AND WE DID SO I HAVE BOUGHT TWO RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND BACK THEN THEY WERE ONLY AVAILABLE IN BLACK AND WHITE. NOW THEY ARE AVAILABLE IN A BEAUTIFUL RED SO I AM KEEPING MY EYES OUT FOR A USED RED J-BUG PHONE FOR MYSELF. IF YOU BUY ONE OF THESE PHONES USED, THERE IS A FIRST TIME $35.00 ACTIVATION FEE AND AFTER THAT YOU JUST PAY FOR THE MONTHLY PLAN YOU SIGNED UP FOR. IT IS ALSO HARD TO FIND A CASE THAT WILL FIT THESE PHONES AS THEY ARE BIGGER THAN THE AVERAGE CELL PHONE. WE ORDERED A FEW FROM EBAY SAYING THEY WOULD FIT THE J-BUG PHONE BUT THEY DID NOT, THEY WERE TOO SMALL. WE TOOK THE PHONE TO A DOLLAR STORE AND KEPT TRYING CELL PHONE CASES UNTIL WE FOUND ONE THAT FIT. THAT WILL ALSO SAVE YOU SOME MONEY AS THE CELL PHONE CASES ON THE J-BUG SITE ARE $20.00.

JitterBug Phone

We purchased two JitterBug Cell Phones off eBay, this required the units to be retuned to Jitterbug for reprograming (system update as well as phone number change). I contacted the JitterBug Customer Service to "set-up" my account before I returned the units. The Rep, a sweet sounding young lady, was most helpful, did what I asked, explained what every fee/charge was and what for as well as informing me of several services available on the phones. These services are standard (aka Free) but have to be "turned on" by JitterBug.
The "turn-around time" is stated to be two weeks, but we got our phones back in less than one week. I went to the Jitterbug Website and created a "My Jitterbug" account, this is so one can check the billing, see how many "minutes" remain or have been used as well as "enter" phone numbers into your call-list (a JitterBug Rep will do this for you, if you need assistance). About fifteen minutes after completing both phone lists, our phones emitted a faint "beep" every few seconds.. We didn't realize it was coming from our phones, flipped them open and, literally, watched the phone list populate into the phone.
We have actually used our Jitterbugs for a bit over a week now. We love the big, back-lit numbers and the nice size screen with a good size font for our "tired" eyes. The size, tho large by cell phone standards, is very comfortable to hold. I like the "ear piece" being at my ear and the "mouth-piece" being at my mouth (my son's cell phone got stuck in my ear because it's so small!)
The only "downside" to the Jitterbug phone that we have encountered, is during a Jitterbug-to-Jitterbug call.. there is a "delay" between when the caller stops speaking and the listener hears the end of the caller's sentence.. This was somewhat disconcerting, but after using it for a week, we learned to not "start talking" when we "think" the other person has stopped. I almost suggested that we end our sentence with "Over" so the other user would know they could reply without being "stepped on". There also seems to be a "VOX" blanking if one is talking, and the second person says something, that person can no longer hear the first.. Again, it took a little getting use to. This "problem" does not manifest itself when calling fron JitterBug to LandLine or vice-versa, and "background noise" doesn't seem to affect the phone at all. We don't know if this condition exists during calls made to/from the Jitterbug and other cell phones.
Other than that, we are VERY pleased with our JitterBug Cell Phones..

I love my Jitterbug!

These Jitterbug phones were originally purchased because of my elderly parents, but we all got them, and love them. They are easy to use, easy to see, and the 800# customer service is really great. They treat you like real human beings. I do really love the new Graphite Gray color over the original white.

Almost Heaven...

The phone itself is in perfect condition as far as appearance and workability, the manuals, charger etc...
Except for ONE that was not told nor explained when purchasing.
Upon my desire to activate it, the seller failed to mention that there was a balance left upon the cell phone under the phone# of 315-963-6098, the previous owner(s)and unless I pay for the balance of $20.00 plus the cell phone cannot be used or activated for my aunt.
This is what they call a "Pig-in-a-poke" type of dealing and I was happy with the phone but not so happy with this additional uknown expense.
I feel this should have been the owners responsibility to clear it such hidden charges.
Not happy over this occurance.
