SAS Survival Guide: For Any Climate, for Any Situation by John Wiseman (2010, Paperback, Revised)

No one could possibly know more about survival than a 26-year veteran of the British Special Air Service. If there's a tougher, better-trained elite military organization anywhere on the planet, I don't know what it might be. They've operated everywhere on Earth, under every imaginable condition, and if anyone knows how to survive under the most adverse conditions, they do. A TWO YEAR veteran of that organization would have the knowledge to write an excellent survival guide. What must a 26-year veteran know?
Collins Gem books have always been my favorites. I carried one in my shirt pocket virtually every day for twenty years. I used it so often that it finally disintegrated -- literally. They pack a tremendous amount of information into a tiny package. They're always there when you need them. And brother, if you ever need THIS book, you will really NEED it! The combination of the amount and quality of the information along with the teriffic format are unbeatable! If you even suspect that you might have even the most remote need for information of this type, you absolutely must have one of these books!

Many people will probably write about the contents of the book. I personally find it real useful and already had a larger copy of the book. I bought the small paperback to keep in my backpack for a emergency. When I got the book I was kind of surprised on how durible the book was made. The pages were a thick semi glossy papper. Don't know if it is waterproof but not like most paperback books you get. The size is nice small enough to slip into your pocket yet easily readable. I perosnally would recommend this to somebody. It's a cheap & handy reference book for everybody to keep on hand. Who knows when they might need it.

I love this book because it explains how to survive in the wild. It has everything you need from food, water, to shelter building and finding safety, or just survive forever out there. I have both the SAS Survival Guide and the SAS Survival Handbook. The "Guide" is a smaller more compact version of the "Handbook" with pretty much the same info, but way easier for me to take hiking. I would stop looking at other books and just get this reasonably prices Survival Guide. Most everything works in here, and every other book has a little bit of the same info, but not ALL this info in 1 book.

It is a good pocket size survival book full of information. THis would be a great book to carry in your car, camping and for refference at anytime.

Super little book, perfect size to carry in your pocket and yet it is packed full of everything you need from setting up emergency shelter to knowing what plants are edible - first aid to water supply - this is exactly what you need to be prepared for a camping trip or armageddon!
