    SAVED-BOB DYLAN

GREAT ALBUM! I'M SO GLAD HE WROTE ANOTHER JEWISH-CHRISTIAN ALBUM. SO EDIFYING.
I BOUGHT "SAVED" BECAUSE I ACTUALLY JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT. LOVED DYLAN IN COLLEGE. THEN SAW HIM IN LONDON IN 1981 WHEN I TOO WAS A BRAND NEW CHRISTIAN. I WAS SO ENCOURAGED. DOESN'T MEAN WE STOP BEING JEWISH, JUST MEANS WE KNOW THE JEWISH MESSIAH WHO FULFILLED OLD TESTAMENT PROPHESIES. BOB, WE NEED ANOTHER ALBUM LIKE THIS FOR 2008!

    Good album from a legend

I had heard the track "Saved" re-done by a band called Third Day a few years ago and didn't realize that it was a cover of a Bob Dylan tune until I was reading the liner notes in the CD and saw that Bob Dylan had the credits. I immediately went on iTunes to check it out and sure enough there was an album with the same name. I ordered it and wasn't disappointed. All the tracks are well written and performed and I was quite pleased.

I like this album.,not as evangellicaly firey as slow train, more a personal statement of faith in Yaweh. The times have changed, and so it appears has Bob. Sad that the world has become so cynical since this was released. No sabre rattling here just the acknowledgement of the deceitfulness of sin, and the need of forgiveness. Not for the Christaphobic.

    Bob Dylan: Saved

     | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Saved is a 1980 album by Bob Dylan. Recorded after "Slow Train Coming" it has somewhat of a similar sound. It is the first album in a trio of Dylan’s self proclaimed “Born again Christian" albums. Out of the Three this sounds the most like a gospel recording, with lots of background vocals, prominent piano, and twangy sounding guitar and of course Dylan’s deep lyrics and sometimes off key vocals. In addition it was probably the least successful of the three recordings after "Infidels" and "Shot of Love". However successful or unsuccessful; there is still a wealth of good tunes here as like most of his albums. Any long time fan of Dylan will know he doesn’t short change his fans. I think years from now the three "Christian" records he made will be looked upon as some of his best work, I enjoy all of his music and this album is no exception.
