Publisher's Note
During the Holocaust at the German concentration camp near Plaszow, thousands of Jews lost their lives at the hands of the Nazis. More than a thousand others were spared thanks to a womanizing, heavy-drinking, German-Catholic industrialist and Nazi Party member named Oskar Schindler. One of the most remarkable narratives of the Holocaust, Schindler's List masterfully recreates the daring exploits of Schindler, who used his enormous fortune to build a factory near the concentration camp and his influence to save the lives of more than 1,300 Jews. It is an absorbing, suspenseful, and moving account of Schindler's legacy of life.

One of the best books on the Holocaust

Created: 29/11/10
Keneally's book in which he did hundered's of interviews (one who was a relative of mine) for background information, tells the true story of how one man and the 100's he saved were able to survive under the noses of the Nazi's. The book will leave you with a memorable impression of how people can survive under inhumane conditions and yet still survive and retain hope for a better future.
Once you start to read, a whole gamut of emotions as well as poignant questions will arise in your heart, the main being how can people can do this to other people? How could've the people on the "list" have survived? How could one man have orchestrated all this?
But it's all true, every damn part of this book. I should know, I heard it from a person who was there himself!
If you don't want to cry, or awaken your human emotions, or don't want to think what the Nazi's did to Jewish people, do NOT read this book or see the movie. But if you are human, by all means, expose yourself to a part of history which some people have been trying to deny. It is usually they who wish to repeat it again!
This book should be required reading in every school, and for every human being on this planet. I highly recommend it as well as the movie by this name made by Director Steven Spielberg.
