Nancy Drew Mysteries

All of Nancy Drew Mysteries are great. They are rated as children's books, but they are also very enjoyable and interesting for adults. I read all of them that I could while I was growing up and decided recently (after 60 years of age) to see if they are as good as I remembered. They are. They are great mysteries, interesting, full of action, hold the attention well, and never have any questionable content for any age. This review is more about the series as a whole rather than one book, although the secret of the old clock is a great book.

I read this book as a young teenager in the 1960's and wanted to see a copy of it again. When I get a chance, I will re-read The Secret of the Old Clock--(Nancy Drew Mystery) again. The reprint I bought is in great condition. I might share it with my middle school students when I finish reading it.

What a great book to start the Nancy Drew Series. I read them with my daughter and she loves them. The Secret of the Old Clock is full of suspence and well written. This is a great book.

The Secret of the Old Clock

As a teenager, I spent many happy hours in the summer, sitting on the old porch swing devouring the Nancy Drew Mysteries. NOW, I discover the books my Mom gave away when I left home are selling for $25+ in antique stores! I was pleased to be able to purchase these old favorites and am enjoying the detailed descriptions of scenery, clothing, and characters. Although geared for young people, these books still have a lot to offer readers of all ages. The books are cleverly written "who-done-its" that encourage the reader to join in solving the mystery.
