Movie synopsis

Former porn director Gregory Dark's contemporary B-movie gorefest has all the necessary trappings to leave genre fans satisfied, and others slightly nauseous. The scene is set when a group of juvenile delinquents arrive at a roach-infested ruin of a hotel, where they have agreed to work in exchange for lighter sentences. They are led by a cop who lost his hand four years ago in a struggle with a brutal serial killer whom he killed with a bullet to the head--or so he thought. Now, the very same hulking monster, played by WWE wrestler Kane, haunts the halls of the dilapidated hotel, and with no further adieu begins picking off the teenagers one by one. He metes out his own brand of justice: having been taught as a child by his punishingly Christian mother that the eyes--the windows to the soul--must be cleaned to please God, he gouges out the eyes of each of his victims. The camera does not shy away from this or any other terifically squirm-inducing action, while the hyperkinetic editing maintains a head-spinning pace. The characters remain one-dimensional and stereotypical, true to teen slasher tradition, but there are enough twists and gleeful scares to make it well worth the while.

Definately A Slasher To See !!!!

Created: 03/12/06
Having seen the success of "The Rock" (Dwayne Johnson), in "The Mummy 2", "The Scorpion King", "The Rundown", "Be Cool", "The Gridiron Gang"....and other WWE Wrestler's like Stone Cold, Kevin Nash, Goldberg in "The Longest Yard" (Remake w/Adam Sandler), HHH (Paul Levesque) in "Blade 3" -- Wrestlers became recognized for well-acting in movie roles; since wrestling is scripted acting. LionsGate Films went into a cooperative and collaborative effort with WWE Films, (Vince McMahons Movie Company -- as he is the agent for his WWE Athletes in Hollywood), in this new release of WWE Superstar "KANE" in "See No Evil". WOW !!!! They found the right genre for him. The Horror/Slasher.... and he excels! -- "Kane" plays the "Hands Of God Killer". Brutally slashing his victims with a large chained hook and binding his victims into diabolically evil submission, plucking out their eyes, (the windows to the soul of their sins). "Kane" is honestly fantastic as the extremely volatile, merciless and destructive psychopath and he really sells you on the fear and fright that the movie lays on thick. Edgy-Camera Work is excellent as you are led down the halls of this dreary, burned-out grey hotel. The lack of significant colors adds to the clearly drone setting and intensifies the drama and tension as YOU, the viewer, FEEL the uncomfortable setting like you are standing in it. - The film begins with a blindingly horrific opener that will leave you absolutely speachless. Not since the "Children Of The Corn" has the first 5 minutes of a film been so Evil and Disturbingly Unleashed upon it's viewers. You barely get comfortable to watch and you have already been horrified into a stroke-like stare. Film flashes ahead: 4 Years Later, Inmates from a Prison (male and female) are selected to assist in the renevations of an old Hotel for Museum-Sake, in exchange for 1 month off their sentences. **(This is the only feature, I feel, that keeps this film from a 5-Star Slasher). You never get to learn much about the inmates, (obviously the soon-to-be-victims), and they come across very relaxed, (often portrayed joking around and sneaking away from supervising personnel with a chuckle). Coming out of Prison, I think they would be a bit less smiling, having been in middle of doing time. The movie would've gone to an even higher level if we got a group of seriously deviant convicts doing HARD-TIME, rather than very young (almost juvenile) offenders in for thefts and one even computer fraud? Had they been more hard-core, bulky convicts, "Kane's" merciless handlings would be over-the-top to what we would see as men even society finds "Hard-To-Control". Nevertheless, the convicts in fact find themselves the prey, in a Hotel filled with maze's, secret passages and double-sided mirrors....all of which has become home to "The Hands Of God Killer -- KANE". He stalks his prey and without hesitation, lays unmerciful judgement on everyone he can come in contact with. There are NO moments of "dramatic-pause" or "one-line humors" before a killing. "Kane" hands out unrelenting and swift/brutal execution of his prey and moves ahead with the cold-blooded sociopathic mission of a clearly disturbed and deranged madman. He honestly adopts this to perfection and makes this SLASHER worth every second. This is definately a film NOT TO MISS - SEE THIS !!

See No Evil

Kane is a great Horror Movie Villain, but the movie is Average!

See No Evil is a fairly decent slasher film full of guts and gore. It was better than I expected due to the fact that it's a WWE Films picture and was directed by former Hardcore Porn Producer Gregory Dark.

It's kinda slow at times and doesn't use the slow downs to build on plot (like a slasher film needs plot anyways) but that's not the point. The positives to this movie are the kill scenes, very disturbing and well done and the semi-twist that I sort of saw coming but was a nice addition to the film. The set and the make-up/special effects are great as well.

The negatives of this film include some shady camera work that causes headaches in unsuspecting viewers and the acting (bad... even for a B-Level Horror Film)

Final Verdict:

3/5

Rent or Buy?: I love horror films, and I might find myself buying this just to add it to my extensive horror film collection, but it's not a movie that your average everyday person will want to own.

See No Evil - DVD (Insane Serial Killer)

Created: 17/03/08
I would say this movie is average. They made it look like a horror movie, but it ended upbeing a movie about a serial killer who has mental problems. Though, for it's class, the movie is not bad. Compared to other movies of it's kind, it's by far very good. It's an interesting movie, and in some ways, it could happen to anyone. The producers used Kane as the serial killer, which makes the movie good to watch, as he is one strong man in real life also.

The problem with these types of movies is that the director and producer try to hard tomake it a big hit. The problem is that the movie includes no good actors, and instead has teens in the movie who base themselves around sex. Just like other movies. For a low budget movie, I consider this movie to be a 3/5. It's a good watch that you wont regret like other movies.

A group of delinquents are sent to clean the Blackwell hotel a a punishment. Little to they know that a serial killer Jacob Goodnight (Kane) has made traps throughout the whole hotel to capture them one by one. Those who remain alive, along with one cop who put a bullet in his head about 4 years ago struggle to remain alive and escape.

If you want to See No Evil don't watch this! It's GOOD!

Created: 08/07/07
In the first WWE film, Kane really tore it up. Finally, the transition from wrestler to actor wasn't a complete flop like it has been for the past 6 or so years.

Kane did a great job as the villian in See No Evil. You see the looks on his face and the hatred in his eyes while attacking. When looking at Kane in See No Evil, you actually believe he's completely intent on attacking his victims.

The story in itself isn't your average slasher story. There's actually motive in Kane's attacks on the (average) misled teenage/early-20's victims, and you can almost understand the torment that he's been through, and why he's the way he is.

All-in-all, I'd say See No Evil is a really good movie. Not great, as well, it IS a horror movie, so don't expect your classic feel-good hit. However, you're not going to see a miss either. See No Evil is everything you could ask for in a horror movie.

Basic slash & gore horror flick

Created: 03/06/08
Kane was perfect for this role, as he has that natural 'scary' aura about him. The film was your basic slash and gore horror flick, but the plot had a good twist at the end to find out who his mother was. As in the Friday the 13th series, it was the mother who caused all the problems in the star as a child... keeping him locked up in a cage and telling him that seeing beautiful women was sinful. That is why he gouged out all of the eyes of his victims, to get rid of the sin. If you like getting the crap scared out of you and like the blood and gore, then you will love this movie. There was not too much blood, but enough to get the scare going. While it was a bit predictable as far as horror flicks go, it still had you on the edge of your seat most of the movie.
