An excellent first volume of the Sega Genesis's history
Created: 27/06/09
This PSP game dives into the past of Sega's archive of 16bit games and updates them with excellent modern fidelity. Coop and two player games are recreated with the use of WiFi feature on the PSP but requires two copies of the game and two systems. Games can be configured to use the entire screen or can be shrunk to their original pixel perfect resolution. Controls have all been rethought for every game to make them comfortable and intuitive to play on the PSP. The game is well produced with many extras like an intro cinema, unlockables, interviews and great menu music.
As a compilation, the package is an excellent first look at what games made the Sega Genesis. However, it is a "first" look because there are quite a few mentionable absences form this compilation; including the Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3D, Streets of Rage 1&2&3, Wonderboy games, Beyond Oasis, Fatal Labyrinth, Space Harrier and Dr Robotnick's: Mean Bean Machine. There are enough games absent to make another compilation and that is what makes this package feel like the Volume 1 of a 2 volume package/series. So this package is excellent for people looking to enjoy the first crop of Sega Genesis games.
Games included are
-Sonic 1&2
-Ecco the Dolphin, Ecco; The tides of Time
-Shinobi 3
-Shadow Dancer(shinobi)
-Golden Axe 1&2&3
-Vector Man 1&2

Have 20 Sega games on 1 UMD. Great classics.Sonic, golden axe, Altered beast, virtua fighter,Sonic 1,2,3.so many games and such a walk down memory lane. For the price you can't get better. Some games are real simple but what a set of games to pass the time. Why pay for each game when you can get 20 games for 1 low price.

sega genesis collection for PSP
Created: 26/07/09
im a big fan of the sega genesis. so i baught this. includes 28 games: Alex Kidd in the enchanted castle, Altered Beast, Bonanza Bros., Columns, Comix Zone, Decap Attack, Ecco the Dolphin, Ecco the tides of time, Ecco Jr, Flicky, Gain Ground, Golden Axe 1,2,and 3, kid Chameleon, Phantasy Star 2,3,and 4, Ristar, Shadow Dancer the secret of Shinobi, Shinobi 3, Sonic 1 and 2, Super thinder blade, Sword of Vermilion, Vectorman 1 and 2, and Virtua Fighter 2. if you grew up with the Genesis as i did, you know that alot of these are some of the best ever released on the console. and also that some of these you never heard of, because they suck. and youll also wonder why some of the other mega hits werent included... the majority of these are sequels. sequels of good games yes but wheres the variety in that? i could do without super thunder blade or gain ground i dont even know why theyre here. wheres streets of rage or road rash, bubsy, the strike series, jarrasic park, and especially sonic and knuckles and sonic 3!? but even without them theres still many hours of good games to play and a decent variety of genres to satisfy anyones tastes.

Sega Genesis Collection
Created: 11/06/07
If you're old school like me, or if you just love classic RPGs, Sega Genesis Collection for the PSP is worth its weight in gold. All of the classics like the Echo games, Sonic 1&2, Vectorman 1&2, etc., are meaty games with depth of gameplay you won't find on the quaint but unfulfilling Atari and Intellivision collections that go for almost the same price on various systems.
Bonus arcade games like Congo Bongo made the whole experience that much richer; I also got to laugh at some lesser efforts like Altered Beast and Alex Kidd, which both seemed pretty cool back in 1989 when I was a zitt-faced teenager.
However, the whole point of this collection, whether you're young or old, old-school or new-school, are the Phantasy Star Games. I am currently playing through Phantasy Star II, and I'm seriously reconsidering my 10-year-stand that Final Fantasy 7 is the greatest RPG of all time. I forgot how great this game is. Seriously, they could have put PS 2-3-and 4 on one umd and it'd be worth $30.
If you have a PSP, buy this game.
