THIS DVD IS A MUST FOR ALL DVD COLLECTIONS. SEASONS 1 AND 2 INTRODUCE YOU TO THE HILARIOUS CHARACTERS OF JERRY, ELAINE, GEORGE AND OF COURSE, KRAMER! IF YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN AN EPISODE OF SEINFELD BEFORE (WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?) THEN THIS IS GREAT PLACE TO START, RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING, SO YOU CAN SEE THE FUNNIEST SHOW EVER RIGHT FROM THE START. THIS DVD HAS SUCH EPISODES AS "THE JACKET" IN WHICH JERRY BUYS AN EXPENSIVE JACKET BUT WHEN IT STARTS TO SNOW OUTSIDE HE HAS TO TURN IT INSIDE OUT, REVEALING A RATHER BRIGHT PATTERN. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPISODES!! IT ALSO HAS THE CLASSIC EPISODE OF "THE CHINESE RESTAURANT" IN WHICH THE WHOLE 30 MINUTE EPISODE IS FILMED INSIDE A CHINESE RESTAURANT!! SOUNDS RATHER BLAND NO? QUITE THE OPPOSITE!!!! THIS EPISODE GRABBED MY ATTENTION AND DID NOT LET GO UNTIL THE END. I GET SO INVOLVED WITH THESE EPISODES THAT I FEEL AS IF I AM THERE SOMETIMES, THAT IS HOW GOOD THE SHOW IS. THIS IS AN AWESOME DVD COLLECTION TO HAVE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT JUST BUYING SEASON ONE, BUT THE WHOLE 6 SEASONS. IT REALLY IS WORTH THE MONEY.

The Seinfeld DVD collection is the best selling TV series collection on the market for a good reason. It is simply the best TV series available on video. The characters: Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer are perfectly cast and perfectly played. The writing by Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, and company is fantastic. The topics are hilarious because they all hit so close to home with simple, everyday themes. The extra features are delightful. There are lots of behind the scenes looks, interviews, stand up extras, bloopers, deleted scenes, commentaries, and more. Don't by any means underestimate seasons 1 & 2 which are just as good if not better than any other season. It's lots of fun to see where and how the series began and watch it progress in the early days.

Who would have believed that a show about nothing would someday become a classic to be ranked up there with shows such as "I Love Lucy," "Leave It To Beaver," or the "Brady Bunch." But that is exactly what Seinfeld has done. After nine wonderful seasons, Seinfeld became a contemporary classic whose reruns are still high in the rankings.

In this DVD featuring Seasons 1 & 2, we are introduced to the three of the four single New Yorks that we come to know and love: Jerry, Kramer & George. Later in the Season, after producers decided they needed a female character, we are introduced to the fourth Seinfeld friend, Elaine.

In these first two seasons, Jerry's apartment looks bare compared to later seasons. Kramer is bit more rough around the edges and George just hasn't quite got his "game" (funny) on at this time; but it's still well worth the watching so that you can see these characters grow.

Just bare with this new show during these two seasons, and I can promise you'll become a Seinfeld fan for life!

They are hilarious. I didn't expect the first season or two to be as funny but they were funny from the very beginning. Jason Alexander really has the "George" character well. He is perfect from the beginning. Kramer and Elaine haven't quite "gotten into" their characters yet but they're still good and the shows are very enjoyable. There are about 4 episodes regarding sex but other than that they're mostly about humorous experiences in life. Some of these include a harmless remark about a pony that ends up upsetting an aunt & she dies (not because of that ........but they think it's the reason), a harmless remark about a busboy that costs him his job and how they try to make it up to him, a situation where Elaine is dating someone she can't stand and how it affects her, George leaves a message on a machine that he hates & they try to switch the tapes. It's just everyday things that are funny when they're happening to someone else ........of course.

This series takes me back to the time when I was in school and a bunch of my friends would come over and watch. This series has all the originals. Many of the episodes I missed because of school or work, so this was a great series to watch in it's entierty. George has to be one of the most honest and true to life characters. Elaine has spunk. Offcourse, who can miss Kramer with his wacky hair. Great buy.
