Seven Swords (2-Disc Ultimate Edition)

I Think this movie was phenomenal. It captured a lot of the chinese culture and how it is portrayed of governmental power among the people. There was a rebellion against an evil warlord and alot of innocent people were slayen for money. It definitely had alot of decapitions, but the choreography was absolutely extravagant during the fight sequences. It was a very dark film with its demonic side, also had alittle betrayal, and some were slaves. The director Tsui Hark also made other movies that were great like "Once Upon A Time In China Trilogy" starring Jet Li and Donnie Yen appeared on the 2nd of the three in the trilogy. The behind the scenes and interviews for the making of the movie were also great. There really isn't anything that I didn't like about the movie. It was a long movie, but it was worth seeing.

I guess reviews on kung-fu are mindless b/c many said this was a great movie w/ great scenes? I agree it has a few great scenes but a lot of weak bad ones w/o anything special...I think I could have done better w/ some of my friends.

One scene then it jumps to something entirely different....no flow...bad acting...2 sword masters were nobodys and then I guess they are awesome b/c they got a sword....the plot sucks, the story sucks, way too long...action sucks b/c you see one sword slash, he flies and then it's over w/ someone laughing....F**K'N GAY AS* MOVIE... really sad that they allowed this movie to be made w/o cleaning it up and smoothing it out. It was not worth the $4 I paid for it.

If you like a lot of top quality sword fights ( which I do ) you are going to love this movie. The only problem I saw in this film was a very poor story line.It is a fairly good imitation of the Akiro Kurosawa's classic The Seven Samurai. But so was The Magnificent Seven and all the remakes that came after it.One thing though it is really not a movie for small children. But in all it is a good watch.

I bought this action movie based on a trailer before a movie that I was about to watch. From the trailer, I expected a little too much from this movie and was disappointed. There are a lot of small talk and minor actions among the main characters and the storyline seems to develop but the movie doesn't focus on the plot or anything...it just goes on and on. If you like sword fighting action, this is for you. If you are interested in a deep storyline.. past this up.
