Drawing on influences from Ministry, 24-7 Spyz and Pantera to Rage Against The Machine, they create some of the heaviest music heard since metal's mid-80s heyday. Crunching guitars and the passionate, screaming vocals of Lajon attack your senses while the rhythm section chugs along relentlessly.Starting with the flanged intro to "Black," this band grabs you in their clutches and doesn't let go, through the wah-wah sounds of "Terminator" to the last rhythmic push of "Born To Die." But don't think these guys are just out to inflict sonic whiplash on unsuspecting ears; there's a message to the madness. This multi-racial band seeks to bring peace to the world through metal. With the wide audience they've earned with their debut album, they just might succeed.

One of the best debut albums of all time!!!

Created: 24/04/08
From the brash beginning of BLACK to the sonic outburst of BORN TO DIE, SEVENDUST(self-titled) resonates sonic distortion within your being. Well balanced attack of brutal beats and melodic rhythm make this album one for the ages. Comprised of five members from aroung the Atlanta,GA area; Lajon Witherspoon, Clint Lowery, Vince Hornsby, Morgan Rose, and John Connely. The R&B crooning of Lajon blends well within the confines of this powerful quintet. A nice change of pace is heard on "Prayer". This song is dedicated to Lajons' deceased brother. Written as an homage to the times when they went to church together. Must have for any metalhead, and definitely a must have for ANYONE that appreciates music as it is. Just music.

ROCK N ROLL

Excellent album, slightly more of a pop feel than previous ( excluding the album of country covers he did ) album Separate Ways. Stand out tracks are Where To Go From Here, In My Arms and Cant Sing Straight, which is an out n out classic. Really happy to see this album get a good score....not sure it this album will propel him into the public eye more

I definitely recommend this album if you like the older albums of sevendust. This album is their first and a lot harder then there pop style of music they now try to do. Love this album.
