) This book was just what I was hoping for. It did not assume that the reader had any prior knowledge on the subject of sewing. The author was clear in the instructions, and her own experiences made the book enjoyable to read as well as informative. I appreciate the author includes how to avoid making mistakes that can ruin the experience of learning to sew, and additionally takes you to some more advanced information and projects. This book was the one I was hoping to find, and afraid I would not. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to learn more about sewing.

) I had an earlier edition of this title, and it walked me through my first-ever curtain project. Of course, I loaned out the book and never saw it again...but I loved it enough to buy it twice! The book begins with incredibly basic information, but does progress to excellent tips and tricks. I'd rate myself a low-intermediate sewer, but having this handy reference has prevented MANY a headache.
Great book to learn everything about sewing!!
