Shade of the Maple by Kirk Martin 2002

I bought Shade of the Maple because I needed to read it for my book club. I really enjoyed this book, and I couldn't put it down. It was a very easy read and perfet for a summer day. It was a sappy, romantic book, and even though I loved it, not every one did. I was surprised to get to book club to find half of the group hated it as much as I loved it. So, not every one has the same opinion, others thought it was so unrealistic sappy, but I enjoyed every page of the book! So, I hope you decide to read it for yourself, and enjoy it as much as I did. I loved it!

Just read Bridgs of Madison County, it's way better!

This book was awful! I had to get through it for my book club otherwise, I'd a burned it. I'm not a huge romance fan to begin with but there is one romance story I love and that's Bridges of Madison County. I am surprised, that this guy wasn't taken to court by the writer of Bridges because it is WAY too similar. If you want a good romance, read Bridges of Madison County and don't waste your time on this. The writer was vague, not nearly as descriptive of the "affair" and failed to establish the characters so that you didn't really care whether they end up together. The climax, if you can call it that breaks suddenly leaving you wondering, "what just happened here?" The ending was very predicatable and again very vague. A poor attempt to replicate a great novel.
