Unbeatable steal!
Created: 01/03/10
This is one of the best bargain buys I have ever found. Ever.
The picture on the TV is fantastic, high def channels through Fios look sharp & clear. Blacks could be darker, but I'm not picky and I have seen worse pictures on more expensive LCD screens. Sound is pretty good for a factory speaker set on a television in this price category - if you're building a home theater then you'll want to use surround, but otherwise it's perfect for watching TV. Installation is a snap, setup is fairly easy. The settings menus are a bit difficult to navigate, but as long as you have a clue what you're after then you can make it do what you need it to do. All in all, this is a spectacular buy. Would recommend as a very good budget TV.

Add Toslink Optical Audio Output
Created: 18/02/10
I got the best deal on this TV! $500 with free shipping for a 42" Sharp 1080p LCD cannot be beaten these days. The quality is excellent. I have it hooked up to my PS3 with surround sound and it is awesome. The internal speakers sound good but are no match for surround sound. I had to get an adapter because this HDTV only has a digital coaxial audio out and my PS3 and most other things are Toslink optical audio. My only suggested improvement would be to add an optical audio output. Also, it is a bit slow to change between inputs (about 5 seconds).

Great TV

PROS: great contrast. HD looks great with 1080p. The speakers sound good compared to other TV's I looked at. (still no substitute for a good center channel).
CONS: when the screen is dark the corners are a bit brighter than the rest of the screen but I'm only reminded of this during the credits credits. and by then, well, the movie is over :)
Bottom line: I am extremely happy with this TV. In the past 2 years or so, Sharp has tried to focus more on specializing in 42in and larger screens. This TV shows their success so far.

Really Great TV, lacks some options, but still GREAT
Created: 08/09/09
This TV looks very very nice. I use this TV to watch HD TV, play my xbox 360 and watch Blu-Ray movies. It has 3 HDMI ports and a few other component and vga ports so what ever you have will be able to connect to this TV. I had a 32 inch 720p TV and this TV is miles above that TV. Going from 720 to 1080 is really a big difference. This TV lacks some customization like you can't re-name the input channels so you kind of just have to know whats on input 1 and input 2...etc. Not a big deal but still annoying at times. The TV casing looks very nice too. TV powers on quick. A really great TV for the price, better ones out there sure but not by much. If you buy this TV you will not regret it.
