Sharpe's Challenge

Anyone who has seen the other Sharpe's adventures must see this last one. We have all the Sharpe DVD's and highly recomend them. All are fast moving and pretty factual. Stories are all well done, and Sharpe's Challenge is no exception. It's good to see Sharpe and Harper back together.

I love the Sharpe's series in all formats, book, audiobook, and of course DVD.
For some reason, this is the only DVD that appears to be affordable as a DVD. The rest of the series (15+ titles) are listed as extremely expensive
This is the most recent title is of good quality

Sharpe's Challenge aka Sharpe Back in India

Great performances by all especially Sean Bean (Colonel Sharpe) and Daragh O'Malley (Sergeant Harper). Excellent directing by Tom Clegg. Top drawer cinematography. The film brings the Napoleonic Era to life in a very realistic manner which holds the viewer's interest. Sharpe's Challenge should be a must see for all military historians, reenactors and wargamers.

This was a good typical Sharpe's DVD. This purchase rounds out my collection of all the Sharpe's Rifles DVD's.

So in Sharpe's Challenge retired Colonel Richard Sharpe (Sean Bean) is dispatched to India to stop a rebellion and search for a missing agent - one Patrick Harper (Daragh O'Malley) they find each other and then get orders from Wellington to save General Burroughs daughter. This film is loosly based on Sharpe's Tiger at the begining but the rest of the story happens about 16-17 years after Sharpe's Waterloo.
This show is pretty much just has Sharpe and Harper in it and with none of the other familiar chosen men making an appearance. Hugh Fraser does appear as Wellington, but only fleetingly. . I really liked the battles of the movie which where whell done, had good character development and more sub-plots than I remember in the previous seasons.
This movie is a great addition to the series and I hope that more will be made or a spin off for that matter.
