Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage, realistic & fun
Created: 25/03/11
I have a collection of Wii games, and I use the Wii fit balance board daily for my workout. Having just purchased the Shaun White Snowboarding game, I am already convinced that it's possibly the best game that I own. Using the balance board, it's really realistic, fun and a great source of core exercise and balance training. True multiplayer support is impossible, because 99.9% of homes only have one balance board, so we just take turns and watch each other's characters perform in competition. The game also challenges you to reach higher levels to unlock courses and gear. Can't say enough good things about it; it's a great game!

The game itself looks very enticing especially by it good looking cover and the idea of snowboarding in your living room. However, once the box was opened and the game was put in, all of my expectations were crushed. The controls are goofy, they don't feel at all like snowboarding and in some cases they are just silly. For example, when playing the game with just the Wii-mote, to jump you had to move your arm up rapidly, at first, this was fun but, later, it just became annoying.
The actual gameplay its self was rather boring. I was expecting either a realistic feel or an overly exaggerated feel such as the ssx series has. It captured neither and at times it felt like it was trying to do too many things at once. The races became monotonous and when I began to beat the game too fast, it made me stop playing the campaign and "hang out with friends".
The control for the tricks also seemed a bit silly, they were trying to make the player feel like he was actually doing them but in reality it was either shifting my weight or rotating my hand. I think that this was innovative but it was definitely not perfected. It would have been more enjoyable if there was more to do.
The game overall is too short and not as thrilling as I expected.

Being a snowboard fan, I really enjoy this one! the graphics are fun and seamless, the animations carry the snowboarder attitude. The speed thrill is thee as well as the big air jumps...if you love boarding, give it a shot. The onl minus is there is no way to switch to goofy controls...but fun nontheless!

Both my 9 year old and 17 year old love this game. Great graphics and lots of fun w/the wii balance board. Only complaint is the same music plays over and over. I mean, how much Blondie can you take? =)

Bought it for my young adult kids for some family fun and it is a kick! Takes some practice for the flips but moving up from beginner to interediate when time permits. Gets everyone in the competitive mood.
