Movie synopsis

A famous pearl with the reputation of bringing misfortune to its owners since the time of the Borgias is finally brought to rest at the British Museum in London. But due to a mistake on the parts of the normally implacable Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and his bumbling assistant Dr. Watson (Nigel Bruce), the pearl is ingeniously stolen by master thief Giles Conover (Miles Mander). Soon Holmes learns of a series of brutal murders committed by a ghoulish homicidal maniac known as "The Creeper" (Rondo Hatton), and the sleuth must determine the link between the two criminals, the pearl of death, and a collection of six plaster busts of Napoleon. Based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story THE SIX NAPOLEONS.
