Some AWESOME Frank Quitely pages as well as other artists in this smart hodge-podge of stories about the Samurai equivelant of Judge Dredd. Naturaly, a must for FQ fans, and very enjoyable and Cyber-Tech Cool fun for anyone with a sci-fi interest and some Grit!

Frank Quitely stands out above all

I bought Shimura becuase I am a huge Frank Quitely fan. His art is very detailed and unique. I knew that was a compilation, it draws from various 500AD stories mostly those dealing with the Shimura characters. Quitely only pencils two stories about 10% of the book, the rest of the stories are okay but not my cup of tea. If your looking for something to tide you over until the the next Quitely penciled series comes out, this will only keep your withdraws symptons at bay for a few minutes. The overall stories were good but the art styles were too different from one another to maintain any unity. Shimura is the Judge Dredd of the orient. Early Frank Quitely artwork is a bonus but not enough of it save it.
