Shirley Temple - The Early Years Box Set (DVD, 2001)

I wanted a Shirley Temple DVD for my granddaughter but this is not what I was expecting -too little - no tap dancing.

A great find! I grew up watching this little girl sing and dance. I once had a Shirley doll. I had never seen Her early years films so this was a great treat for me! It took me back to my childhood. Not that my life was like hers, but that she brought me back to the joy I felt watching her in the midts of what my life as a child was like. I liked that it was on dvd, though it didn't look as good as movies now a days it's understandable and it was still a joy to watch.

I grew up watching Shirley Temple movies and loved them. I wanted to share them with my grandkids. I wanted to show my grandkids that they could enjoy the black & white Shirley Temple movies just as much as the videos they are used to, without all the special effects. They enjoyed Shirley Temple too, one of my granddaughters even asked why Shirley didn't have funky pink hair or anything.

There are alot of videos on the market. Today, even children's videos are directed to the adult audience. I know my grandkids don't understand most of the humorous comments. I also think kids get distracted with the animation/special effects and miss any moral lesson, if there is one. I think my grandchildren can learn from the spunky "Biggest Little Star" and her huge heart.
