Movie synopsis
Mixed-up medical tests have mistakenly convinced officer Burt Simpson that he is dying and he wants his son to collect on his big insurance policy - that only pays off for death in the line of duty. Burt's got just five days to retirement and chases killers, bombers and crazed smugglers in an attempt to get killed, but it's not that easy.

) I saw this movie years ago and thought it was great. I searched for the movie for a long time and finally found it on e-bay. The movie is very funny. It tells a story of a man who thinks he is dying. In order for his insurance to pay the death benefit, he has to die in the line of duty as a policeman. He then tries to get killed but everything he does backfires. It's sort of the way my luck runs. I really liked the movie.

) About a cop(Dabney Coleman) who thinks he has a fatal disease and with only one week left before retiring from the force, tries to get killed in the "line of duty" so his insurance will pay for his sons' college education. He goes to insane lengths to get killed, only to be left alive and kicking at the end of every police pursuit! This movie is hilarious!
Short Time provides long time enjoyment!

This is a great plot that Dabny Coleman executes with just the right amount of frustration & comedy. Sadly not available on DVD but if you find one on VHS format it's definitely worth buying.

Great movie. It has one of the best police car chases. Very funny. Great for the whole family. I wish it was released on DVD.

Real funny movie. Great acting all the way. Will watch it over and over. One of Dabney Colemans best movies. This could really happen. Strongly recommend this movie .
