Showdown: Legends of Wrestling (Sony PlayStation 2, 2004)

Out of the three Legends Of Wrestling games, this was probably the best one hands down. But just because it was the best one perhaps, doesn't mean it too was perfect in all regards. Everything people have read about the game having glitches is true, it does have them, and it's obvious that Acclaim rushed through putting the fine touches on the game. Unfortunately there still is no Ric Flair on here though, easily one of the most anticipated appearances since finding out the game was going to be made. When he didn't make it on the first one I was sure he would make it on the second one at least, or the third one but he still isn't on here. But to make up for not putting him on here they did make some excellent choices for new legends to put on here like Sting, The Ultimate Warrior, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Ravishing Rick Rude and a few others.

The game play is not perfect on here, but it's far more less clumsy acting than the previous two combined I think. I did like the fact they added some of the most legendary arena's/venues in the history of the wrestling world on here. I think it added a bit of authenticity to the game the other two didn't have in this regard. They have more match types on here too like the Ironman match for instance. But aside from the glitches in the game and still slightly clumsy controls, it's a great game to just play for nostalgic purposes for anyone that grew up watching wrestling through the 70's, 80's and 90's. That's why I respect and like all three Legends Of Wrestling games.

SHOWDOWN: Legends of Wrestling is Acclaim's third addition to its name-driven franchise and allows up to eight players the ability to match up against some of history's most legendary names across multiple eras. Over 70 classic and current ring warriors can compete in multiple match types like Cage, Hardcore, and Battle Royal. Additionally, there are two different career modes that offer era-based and feud-driven sagas. Learn your way around the ring with Bret "Hitman" Hart's special "Excellence of Execution" tutorial mode or generate your own wrestling icon with the Create-A-Legend option.

My seven year old son loves to play this game. He asks many questions about these legendary characters that were famous before his time. i enjoy watching him play it. We are going to a live Monday night raw match soon; and he is going to wear yellow and red like Hulk Hogan.

This game is a lot of fun and has the all-time classic wrestlers on it! You can do all sorts of matches from steel cage to ladder to royal rumble. Tons of fun!

Any games featuring this many legends of this sport of wrestling is a must have for fans. I like everything about this game, the moves and situations (Showdown Challenge) being my favorite.

The only thing missing is a few of the other legends ,Ric Flair, Magnum TA, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, JJ Dillon etc...... Hopefully the next game will include those I mentioned and a few others.
