Are you UP for a Quest Donkey?
Created: 14/04/07
Our kids 9, 7, and 5 years old love this game! They played together with their parents alternating until they wrapped it! Then they started allover again.
We enjoyed the different mission/quests. There are 12 magic beans to find on each level and sometimes other items. YOu can chekc your list to see how you are doing by pressing the start button. You can go back and play level again, or stay on it until your are finished.
The kids really enjoy changing characters. They like that this game is up to 4 characters simultaneously so they can all play to help each other. There are hero times where individual characters have to win like Shrek, wolf, little red, Gingy ect. If they couldn't make it the first time the like changing off and helping each other.
The kid's the challenge but foud it fun play together more than alone.
Great for family time! Very fun game.

Shrek 2 playstation PS2 game--GREAT for kiddos!
Created: 30/04/08
My children are game fanatics... no matter how much I try to get them away from the games--they always are drawn back in! Soooo... if they MUST play games, I look for games that are good for them... and require more than just pushing buttons and "you've won" deals! I like the games that need strategies, and thinking... USING your noggin'! That brings me to "Shrek 2: Playstation 2 game"... I LOVE this game. The characters are well-created, and just adorable. They really look like the actual characters on "Shrek". This game requires the children to use their minds and figure out different ways to navigate, and such! If you think this is just a simple game that will cause the zombie-like similarities in your children... WRONG!!! This game really gets the kiddos interacting, shouting (joyfully... and not menancingly), and trying to figure out different strategies to go through the different levels.
There is slight violence... but think about it... most games and television shows are filled with violence (heck... even Disney shows have violence in them... somewhere). We cannot shield our children from everything (even though we would like to)... so, a fun and slightly "violent" (for lack of a better word) game such as "Shrek" is actually okay in my opinion!
This game invokes concentration, imagination, thinking, skills, fun, & more! You really cannot go wrong with this game! I do think it is better for "older" children that maybe know how to read (unless you don't mind reading every friggin' little caption they have to your kiddos)...lol! My sons that enjoy this game are 3 years old, and 7 years old! The three-year old really has fun but does have trouble reading (mmm... he's not a prodigy), and has some trouble figuring out the different strategies to play the game... but--HE'S THREE! He does pretty darn good overall (see, such a wonderful game)! My other son, who is 7, LOVES this game! He can whoop me anyday (er, um, well... occassionally ADULTS even like games)! He understands most of it... and the ones he has trouble figuring out... he will sit there and work and re-work any situation until it fits (just like a puzzle)!
Overall, I think it is a really good game for kiddos, teens, and adults alike! Really... use your imagination, sit back & relax... grab a soda...um, I mean a really good 100% juice drink that has all the fortified vitamins... maybe some chips, er... I mean some wheat thins, and just let your imagination run wild! Have fun, kick some DONKEY & OGRE butt...oh wait, those are the good guys... just have fun! It's a great game! No cursing in this game, and it's just really good overall!

SHREK 2 FOR PS2

This game is great for kids and even adults. Perhaps my favorite thing about this game is that up to 4 people can play this game. Travel through many different locations and choose between 9 different characters. There are also quests called "Hero Time", where you play a mini level with a certain character fro whom the level was designed. If you like the movie, you'll probably like the videogame too.

Shrek 2 PS2 is a good buy for Shrek fans
Created: 18/03/08
I bought this game for my two boys who are major Shrek fans. Tried it out for myself the other day and I had a hard time putting it down!
Playable characters include Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Gingy (to start) and, as different characters rotate out, also includes: Dragon, Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, and others.
The Characters all have their own special powers/abilities and each contributes to the storyline as a whole.
The graphics are what you would expect for Playstation 2 and the gameplay is good. The storyline has no continuity problems that I have discovered (I've found more than one in some other popular games) and transitions with ease between the different aspects of the game.
The "Hero-time" segments are similar to the individual character storylines you will find in many other multi-character games (such as Legend of Dragoon PS1) and serve to highlight the individual character's abilities and importance to the overall game mission.
A must-have for Shrek fans!

Great family fun
Created: 15/01/06
This was one of the first games we purchased for our Playstation 2. It has proven to be a great way to learn the PS2 controls while having a good deal of fun. The thumb stick controls are not overly sensitive which makes movement pretty simple to master. The characters are fun and with up to 4 players the whole family can get involved.
There are really only two issues with this game that I can cite. First, the view point will sometimes get to an angle where it is difficult to see the action clearly. It can be adjusted but there are just some scenes where there is no good view point.
Second, at every stage of the game there is a Hero Time activity. This involves one character on a rather difficult course that takes numerous tries to complete. Unfortunately, if you're playing with 4 players, you wind up with 3 people sitting for 20-30 minutes while one person tries to get through the obstacle.
