Shrek the Third (Wii, 2007)

In Shrek the Third, players adventure as Shrek and his friends to save Far Far Away in a hilariously twisted fairy tale from the movie and beyond.
Shrek the Third uses some great wii remote features and the battles and stunts required to complete each level are fun and challenging

Fans play as their favorite heroes from the film: Shrek, Donkey, Puss-in-Boots, Fiona(My Personal Favorite), Fiona’s rebellious cousin Arthur and her fellow fairy tale heroine Sleeping Beauty.

The game takes players on an epic journey through the worlds of Far Far Away after Prince Charming storms the city with an army of villains in order to seize the throne. Players are challenged to rescue pals, face off against Charming’s henchmen, gather collectibles, test their gaming skills in numerous boss fights and engage in a horde of minigames.

Players travel through the epic Shrek universe in 20 peril-filled movie-based and game exclusive levels such as Academy Grounds, Evil Queen’s Castle (game exclusive), Pirate Ship and more. Players will interact with characters from the film as well as new, game-exclusive characters.

Players learn to use each character’s special abilities and skills including Shrek’s “Ogre Power”, Fiona’s “Flying Kick”, Puss N’ Boots “Cute Puss”, Sleeping Beauty’s sleeping “Swoon” attack, and Artie’s “Power of Excalibur.” Epic boss battles draw fans further into the Shrek universe as they defend the kingdom of Far, Far Away against Prince Charming and his bumbling band of down-and-out fairytale friends.

The game includes multiplayer minigames: Castle Capture, Shrekleboard, Frog Herder, Shooting Gallery, Catacombs Leap and Ships Ahoy.

My Family loves sitting together and playing this game. I would say if you like any of the Shrek movies you will love this video game.

We rented this game and we bought it for our boys aged 12 and 4. They had to have it!

Overall, the game suits all ages and can be enjoyed by the entire family. Reading skills aren't required for a youngster - so long as someone is around to assist with reading and relaying the initial control features.

The graphics are better quality than other character games we have seen. I believe all the voices are of the original cast. (Not the case in a lot of other games!) You don't play the as the same character in all levels. There are levels where you play as Fiona, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty, Donkey and of course, Shrek.

It helps to look up a playing guide online so you can help the kids along with different tasks in the levels. It certainly helped me jumping in there and help out our 4 year old on a couple of occasions without me having the benefit of knowing exactly what to do (continuous jumps, etc.).

The only problem I had with this game is I have no idea how to add another controller for the multi-player mode. Still don't have a clue after trying everything I know prior to loading the game, tried adding it in the main menu... still can't manage it! So, it's lost on me!

A great game for Shrek fans of all ages! Enjoy!

I bought this game for the Wii a couple weeks ago. The game controls are fairly easy and straight forward. The game switches between character from the movie so you have different skills you use for each character. Changing characters keeps it more interesting and keeps you from getting bored with the same one.
The only thing I have found that I don't like about this game so far is that there is NO CAMERA CONTROL, which makes it difficult to accomplish some of the tasks....it's kinda hard to jump to something you can't really see clearly or you see at an angle. otherwise the game has been fun so far.

Very exciting game. Good mix of different styles of games out there. Graphics very good for a Wii game and sound pretty good. I love the Shrek movies so this game was high on my list and I got it for a great price.

I bought this game for my grandson because he loved the Shrek movies. I own
a Wii so that I don't become a couch potatoe. Anyway, I thought I would "test
drive" it before gifting. It started off with pleasant fighting but soon
turned into a puzzle solving adventure. I was hooked and it definately
improved my hand eye cordination and patience! Dry humor and a lot of fun.
I would highly recomend this game for any age. Open mind helps.

The only question left is what to get my grandson
